Hoping the stem itself will sprout roots. Here's hoping. Things are starting to look great mate yes they did stretch quite a bit but as you have buried the excess stems this will definitely help and the lady that has the accident has recovered very well Nice to see you have topped the girls to make them bush out more and even better to see that those tops are now potential new clones no waist here Looking great mate and thank you for the added pictures very much appreciated! Until the next one All the best Mark..

Slippy One
Been a while since I've updated so it's come along quite far now. I have a raised part of a swamp surrounded by a hedge called "old faithful", which I've dedicated to the Dinafem mums, alongside a newer plot called bunny alley alongside a few of Canada's finest (Guerrilla Gold 3, 3rd generation outdoor uk bred) thrown in for pollen requirements. 11th year running at old faithful, how funny if this is the first year it gets ripped . heres some pics of the outdoor ramblings.. Love the texture of this Car tyres from the opening, covered in tarp over winter. Easy peel growing. More winter prep porn good old night time drop the evening before one of the swamp tubes with fresh compo and shit loads of bonemeal/chicken pellets. Hope this doesn't cook the gals..they got hungry last year.. Blue Cheese mums GG3 mixed beans should be a thing least 2 boys in here (here's hoping) Bubba Kush mum in her bunny alley tyre, just as much bonemeal/chicken pellets, plus water crystals. These are the cuts from my 10 Dinafem mums, and my guard frog to kept he slugs at bay. Love frogs, might take a few out to a plot. Better than pellets at keeping slugs out, and we all know copper doesn't really work. Then these voles fell out of the bag they were sleeping in, had to rescue them delicately, and make them a new home. Same thing happened last year, the mum will collect them and relocate the babies asap. Voles are weird creatures. So so there you are, you can see them mums haven't been completely wrecked taking cuttings, there's still plenty of growing shoots on them. I do realise that large, topped plants will probably need some tying down and support at the end, especially if the flowers are heavy with seeds. That's the price we pay for taking clones, which as you can see, are very plentiful this year. So my 10 Dinafem beans are now also 40 cuts, which will be put out by Thursday. Not a bad number for some free seeds and a diary, thanks again @Dinafem-Mark
flighty
Gonna be a good season by the looks of it! Have you tried osmocote in swamp tubes? It's supposed be the best thing for keeping them healthy.

It's supposed be the best thing for keeping them healthy. Hi beezee, I tried some miracle grow pellets once, but they made the bud taste strange. I'm aware of how much interest the local foxes have in the bonemeal but I like to keep it as organic as possible. The biggest issue with the swamp is the dampness from late August onwards. Last year there was a proliferation of leaf rust, which assume as because the plants ran out of food. Every year is a trial I guess. I'm hoping the bonemeal won't cook them at this stage. Bonemeal should last all season, here's hoping.
flighty
Yeah agreed, bonemeal should last a long time, but I don't think it has everything the plant needs in it. I've read about Canadian growers using osmocote in swamps with excellent results. Could be worth a go with a couple of plants, if it tastes dodgy don't bother with it the next season

Michael Luchóg
Everything looks A1. Clones are thriving. Osmocote and similar feeds work with temperature . They release the food when it heats up ,some are richer and the marketing term is "longer lasting" ,not sure ,maybe they are but they'll burn plants like any feed if used heavily. Good stuff Slippy.
Slippy One
Beezee, I agree about the lack of balance in bonemeal, I'll do some research. These ladies will get some pretty decent tlc, including foliar sprays of bio silicone and more chicken pellets with some forest mulch. I hope they fare better than last year. Swamps have their own sets of problems..

Slippy One
Thanks tigsey, every year is a game of attrition. If this lot goes tits up, there's always the clones which will be planted 40 miles away from the mums..

Hi Mark, with very wet soil, in this case swampy ground with a very high water table, the tubes are simply a raised bed, to counter the waterlogged soil underneath. The tubes act like a water wick, which means the plants take as much water as they need. Explosive growth often occurs. Been some 15 foot monsters here in the past. The picture in my profile pic, was taken here, with my arms stretched up as far as I can reach with the camera. I'm 6'3". http://www.uk420.com/boards/index.php?/topic/318125-swamp-tubes/& Edited May 30, 2017 by Slippy One

Slippy One
Some swamp tube pics. Only 8 tubes now, as any more starts to restrict the airflow. 8 can yield as much as 16 plants in a good year. I'm definitely getting lazy by not cleaning things up over winter, you can still see last years skeletons.. Upon arrival, my old school recycling bins still in place. Emptying out last years soil, ready for some fresh levingtons. Spot the IKEA bag Then mix in some food... Then chuck a plant in and hope for the best. At least wildlife like foxes and bunnies can't get in. These bins rock. And they were free. Edited May 30, 2017 by Slippy One
