I bought a pack of 3 black jack just before the competition was announced(typically) and have grown them in plant magic coco coir with the PM coco nutrients A+B plus a little PM root stimulator and bio-silicon(max EC 1.4,PH 5.8) .I use a 200w blue cfl lamp for veg.They went from 3" pots to 6" pots and have nice white healthy roots.They where topped about 1 month ago and got some lst.. I grew out the S.A.D though and it was a real nice smoke. Quite slow growing but the jack influence should give them more of a stretch i think . Sickboy Posted December 14, 2010 Author Share Posted December 14, 2010 Today i have taken 6 cuttings from each and put them in my 20 site aero ponic propagator,with plain tap water.As you can see in the pics i have a little tank heater in there(set at 22deg) to keep the chill off.I plan to flower them in 6ltr pots of coco coir on my 3 wilma dripper systems.I will put 5 in each.The extra 6th cutting is just in case 1 doesn't root.. Clean plate for cutting on,new razor blade,shot cup for cloning spooge and cup of water.All clean and sterile. Mums pre-cuttings.. Better clean this lot up before the wife gets home .. Sb.. The babies have been in the aero prop for a week now so i have opened the vents and had a little look.Pleased to say we have the beginnings of roots on some of them . I have not added anything to he res or anything,still just tap water heated gently 22deg. Still under 24hr light with the three mums.The mums are getting bushy already after the big trim last week. The next move will be to pot them on to 4" pots but not until we have many more roots in about 7/10 days at least.I will add nutrients to the prop res soon and will post here when i do it.. It's in the loft of our two bedoom semi.I built a room from kingspan (foam board insulation) right up in the top of the roof its 2m high tapering down to 150cm at the sides.Its just over 2m long and 120cm deep giving around 27 sqft,just under 50w/sq/ft. I have 2 600w hps in cooltubes to make most of the short hieght and they keep the heat down in summer.The light spread is shit but at least the ones directly under the bulbs (25/30 cm)get lots of light.I extracy through a 6" rhino filter and the lights with a hi power 6" ruck and it gets vented out the eaves through a vent i fitted at the rear of the house..Intake varies from 4 or 5" ruck from either the cavity wall the loft itself or down in the house depending on temps.I manage to grow up there all year round but i do have 2 heaters on 24/7 now .
