Hope all's going well bud Hi mate there trucking on nicely and are coming up to 7 weeks this friday, out of the five plants four are on the short side looking pretty much the same and one is a big ugly bastard that by the looks of it you would think it was something else but i crossed these in isolation so it must be the same. the four shorter plants all have thrown to the x18 and the smells on squeezed resin between the fingers is that turpentine/gas paki smell so common in x18, chitral and such like they really are true to type, the big one smells sour and astringent almost nasty with a bite on the nose. Bad points are two of the shorter girls threw out quite a lot of balls on the leaf nodes up to around 3 weeks of flower which i pulled off as they developed and as of now there are no male parts developing in the flowers but only time will tell. as i think back the x18 girls were prone to do the same and is why i used only x18 males in the initial cross to try and limit the herm issues but it looks like its still there in them albeit at the moment only in early flower, maybe the new maple cx males used this time around will show less intersex in early flowering ?. As is ive put pollen from the three males to all five maple cx girls, a 88 g13 hashplant, a black domina x g13 hashplant and to three headbanger girls so ive plenty to look through for the future. I will get some pics up when nearer to harvest.
Shaggy1
@Dr feelgoodshame about the balls mate but I suppose these things can happen with these genetics and at least you've got 2 different phenos with nice differences! I'm not that familiar with the old hashplant lines, unless you count og just getting myself acquainted properly with some pine tar kush and I've got a few other lines to look at but I like what I'm hearing and seeing. A nice list of other plants you hit too, looking forward to pictures mate

Dr feelgood
Conclusion to the maple cx is that all five girls had bollox in there early life flowering and for this reason all seeds from this union will be getting thrown into the flowerbeds around my home town.. Its a shame really as there were a couple of nice girls that maybe i would have kept. anyways heres some flower pics, smell and toke is all apple but with a gnarly undertone from the dc, high is nice and focused in the head and not too sedative to ruin your day, all in all a nice smoke.

Cajafiesta
@Dr feelgood sorry to hear about the nuts, Doc. I've had afghanis do it, too. I had some Mazar or some other line ( i forget now, but some landrace-ish afghani) where it was so bad that i just killed all of them at something like 4 weeks into flower. Just absolutely saturated with nanners. Shame. Alaska Dave told me about having the same experience with an afghani line. I *think* it may have been the Jalalabad that was floating around several years ago, maybe. Edited March 2 by Cajafiesta
