mysticriver
8 weeks pulled a couple more handfuls of leaves have a noticeable Ca issue on most, but I think I now know what is causing it (thats not a training issue) see how low they are? its a good technique for anyone short on headroom mystic Edited May 30, 2022 by mysticriver 9 Link to comment
mysticriver
hi folks! I tried to get a '9 week' photo, but it meant opening up the tent etc etc and I couldn't be arsed its almost exactly the same as the 8 week photograph... - they are all at similar ages, I have started flushing 1 and the rest will soon follow final thoughts - everything keeps really low, its good for that its not the best training technique, and not the worst either. just what im used to thanks for looking! mystic Edited June 5, 2022 by mysticriver 2 Link to comment
MindSoup
I might have to give this a try next time I'm training out a single plant in my 2x2. Thanks for guide mate. 2 Link to comment

CDF20
Thanks for tutorial Applied to my photoperiod just before switching to flower. This is day two after stripping them Will try LST today as didn`t want them to stress them out much Let`s see them bouncing back Edited June 16, 2022 by CDF20 3 Link to comment
rolio
You didn't want to do what now @CDF20? Now I'm no expert but that doesn't look low stress. Do they not need leafs for photosynthesis? Someone educate me here please 4 Link to comment

It doesn`t look like LST It looks like EXTREME DEFOLIATION which is part of this tutorial (see first post in this topic). Plants does NEED their leaves and imporstnat part of this extreme defoliation to provide sufficient amount of nutrients while new growth forming. This is actually called SCHWAZZING (plenty info just google it). Basically you stripped all the fan leaves just before changing lights to flower and then do it again between 21-26 day-ish in flower stripping all nodes and leaves up to third from top. Read few reports where growers made 2.1gpw by using this method while other growers just killed their plants. By all means I am not an experts BUT looking at mysticrivers grow I tend to believe in this method whatever it`s called schwazzing, shmuzzing , extreme defoliation, stripping plant techniques and etc Will update in 7days either they will die or thrive! MindSoup
@rolio I'm with you on this one tbh, may as well kick it down the stairs . I've had plants die from less. I know that might sound harsh but I feel it needs to be said, kind of why I made the other slightly patronising comment the other day. Edited June 16, 2022 by MindSoup 3 Link to comment

My point is, this doesn't seem like basic LST as the title suggests, all the research I've done on LST involves manipulating the branches and doesn't usually involve any defoliation other than lightly to improve light penetration if needed. Im in no way knocking the technique.. I'm sure you understand where I'm coming from. @MindSoup it won't be my first attempt at it anyway 4 Link to comment
CDF20
Day three after defoliation Still alive and looks happy New growth coming nicely 3 Link to comment
CDF20
@rolio thanks mate. Me too. Hope they will thrive Yes, I got you about lst. Some new growers can be confused . 2 Link to comment
