After some very complex computations (ie - I copied the PPM from someone that does batch mixing ) I was running 1.3 EC throughout veg - using the 3.2 - 5 ratio, instead of the 3 - 5 (may not seem much but you could see the difference - core + grow) I worked out that If I start the EC at 0.2 with CaMg I should be able to run 1.5EC in transition and maintain a nice 130PPM of nitrogen. (core + bloom + CaMg) They laughed at 1.5EC and continue to drink like a fish......I'll keep it there tho atm as its only just gone up and Im expecting the darker green back again once it gets used to the new bloom formula and increased cal/mag/nitrogen (im only topping up with CaMg water set at 0.2 atm so I can gauge the EC levels.) If they continue to lighten then I will continue to turn the screw.....But even at the High EC in Veg I haven't got a burnt tip anywhere. Im gonna run this until week 4 when I'll drop the CaMg, return to 1.3EC and run with the 110PPM Athena suggest for nice solid buds ( inflorescence being inversely linked to cannabinoid concentration - I want power not yield) Tbf I really like using salts......the plants have never looked better - I put this down to shocking storage practices from the grow shops !! I have thrown out every other nutrient bottle I had.....I know the Athena hasn't dropped out..... Ty They are taking the 1.5EC no problem and have green'd up from this already (diaries are great)....Im shocked at how much water is being taken from the top up. With CO2 they would be just screaming like bamboo and I can very much see how I could push the EC even further. Just kept the EC at 1.5EC and they are draining the top up (130 litres) in a week atm (between four girls thats impressive) I'll get a pic of the tank....its change day so you can see just how clean it still is after a week in my system. Im completely sold on salts and Im gonna keep harassing Jacks nutrients until they give in and start sending me there goodies (any grow shop owners reading - We want Jacks nutrients !!!!!!!!!) I made the 'top up' tank 0.2 EC with their cal mag so I didn't have guess it (just for transition and early bloom) and went for an add back solution instead (ie I go in and just add more nutes every time the EC drops)....I also add the cleanse at the minimum rates in both top up and main system once only. I'll show you some root porn in second....Lilly white and healthy as fook....Im gonna have problems as they are just not stopping and may even push harder on the EC next time. I need shorter strains really....these cali efforts are fantastic. The hella Jelly I grew being the best weed I have ever grown or brought.
