Guest
First off I would like to thank HSO Mark and the team at Humboldt Seeds for running this competition every year and giving out free seeds to loads of willing growers in return for doing a diary. I did not take any seeds off HSO this year as I won 30 seeds in last years competition so I will be using them and not being greedy and taking more seeds off them for the sake of it. The seeds I am growing are 30 Lost Coast Skunk Auto. Sativa/Indica/Rudralis cannabis strain derived from the cross between a Lost Coast Skunk and a Ruderalis. It is a high-quality auto hybrid and the ideal strain for beginners to obtain a quality crop in an easy way. Lost Coast Skunk Auto was created to ensure that all growers can obtain quality crops without trouble and with little effort. It is an elegant, fast-flowering, easy-to-grow, strong plant that produces plenty of elongated, bulky buds covered in resin. It is an all-around auto that will delight all breeders alike. Lost Coast Skunk Auto can be grown in small indoor spaces and goes unnoticed outdoors. It is recommended to water it scarcely but regularly and to add 30% of coco to improve the oxygenation of the soil. Lost Coast Skunk Auto has deep flavour and aroma, with notes of Skunk and pepper. The long-lasting effect is powerful, balanced, physical and mental. It is the perfect choice for unwinding peacefully.
Guest
Seeds will be germed once my current lot are out. 20 are going in one plot and 10 in another. They will be placed in cup of water till they sink and then into wet cloth inside a click lid container and then placed in an electric propagator till the tap roots long enough for me to put them in the soil in a 32 cell deep root trainer. Once they are 2 weeks out of the soil they will be transferred to my plots the 1st or 2nd week of May.

Guest
All of the Lost Coast Skunk Auto’s are soaking as we speak. Now in the tent on a heated propagator until tomorrow, where they will be going in a deep root trainer with a soil and compost mix.
Guest
Seeds now in wet cloth waiting for tap root to grow a centre meter or two before going in the soil in the deep root trainer. Hoping to get these out in two weeks from now. Hoping the nettles and brambles have shot up by then for cover and protection as the nettles get 5-6 feet at the plots. Guest
So far so good. Most are now planted in the deep root trainer cells in a 70/30 mix of compost and coco under a 300w LED with only the Veg lights switched on. The rest are still in the cloth till roots gets a little bigger. Temps in the propagator are 21c-24c. Weather here at Lat 51 west over the next few days has a high of 13c in the day and low of 7c in the night so I’m keeping the light on 24 hours for 3 days to keep temps steady to help them grow a little, then I will drop it to 18/6 where it will stay till they go out in two weeks. Guest
So we have 28 out of 30 in the deep root trainer which so far has all above soil but a mix of ones that have shed their shells and ones that haven’t yet. The other two failed to germ but 2 out of 30 is nothing. Coming along now, rain for a few days will fill my buckets at my plots so will save me taking water on the journey to plant out. Showing sun for a bit then.

Guest
Quick update whilst their out of the tent for some water with root growth stimulant. Bit of a bad news update. Last week I realised I had switched of the extraction fan for a few days by mistake, temps hit 32c. Was hoping it would have been okay but unfortunately, a few have stunted and died. As you can see, there’s 5 that look like they just grew out the soil, they are same age as the rest. With the dead and these 5 that look like they ain’t going to pull through, I’m possibly down to 19 healthy plants. Note to self, always check you’ve got everything functioning before leaving the attic. Few close ups of the stunted girls. Some good news tho. Mark and the HSO team have sent me some New Release Autos to try outdoors, NICE ONE BROTHER. Will make up the numbers to fill the two Auto plots. Guest
Here’s the info on the new Autos that are on way to me..... Can’t wait, sound lovely don’t they. Chem-Bomb Auto by Humboldt Seed Organization is a highly productive and aggressive autoflower created from some classic American strains. Strong and hardy lateral branching is achieved in the first month of development, which later supports very large and dense bud sites. This strain displays broad fan leaves with good spacing between internode sites, allowing for deeper light penetration into secondary layers of the canopy. Chocolate Mint OG Auto by Humboldt Seed Organization is an autoflowering cannabis strain comprised of our elite-boutique Chocolate Mint OG and the resounding OG Kush Auto. Tall and with aggressive vegetative growth, this plant was created for strong resistance to disease. Large fan leaves supported by hardy secondary branching make for large production.
