If you can't get your lights up higher @Inspiration101 I would consider using parabolic shades, they put the light down great and you can get them real close to the canopy and best of all the heat goes out sideways and up rather than down on your plants. Horizontal shades get on my nerves, even my 150w is raining some fierce heat down on my little-uns.

Hope they pull through for you mate as @rabthegrower says, pull the dead stuff from the buds and get a fan between light and canopy you should see it through!

@SMEG HEAD

Yep, I broke my own rules really, going back to my 2nd grow and also mosts successful in terms of least headaches and massive yields was with a 600w in a 6" cooltube !

I have since done 12 more grows and never replicated the same level of success.  WILMA's, non organic grows, organic grows, 1 light in a maxibrite air cooled hood, followed by a 2nd so they squeeze into the tent together, these nutes, those nutes, other nutes...... had some fun and experimented a lot.  And along the way kept saying KISS - Keep It Simple Stupid - But all I have ever done is complicate things............:wallbash:

Next grow I am going back to just one bulb, organic all the way, and will see what results (all going well) I get end of December.

I have moved the lights an additional 6" higher as well as put a fan in place to distribute any heat better, plus lowered the bulbs to 400w per bulb - But the damage is done, loads of those top buds are well crispy burned.

@rabthegrower

Thanks yep, am watching out for bud rot, the leaves are crispy but their stems are wet n floppy so keeping an eye out for any bud rot and shall keep pruning away as many dead leaves as possible before they fester into something much more serious.

That's the thing with growing I find, always wanting to try something different see what works and what doesn't and then 5 years down the line you just end up going back to what you remember best, it's the reason I've stopped messing around with trying different nute brands each run when BioBizz did me right as you know when to add your epsoms if needed.

Plant Magic used to be good but then they changed some things, it got watery right around the time they started selling MagneCal and other bits, I really prefer the molasses in the feed.

Can't wait to see how the guano does though, that's new for me and will see how it goes before picking up another old favourite of mine which is BAC Bloom, lovely thick organic dutch formula that's a bit more expensive (£13/L) but the stuff is top quality.

Exactly that with the years of growing...................seems I have gone full circle.

With PM nutes I won a competition on the forums here and they posted me $100 of their stuff, gave it a go - And right again, their stuff is watered down, not so awesome, no real smell to it.  Am going to stick with Biobizz, stick with what I know and what works :)

Yea bat guano, am unsure of the benefit, I did not add any to this grow in the end, but I did on my previous grow which did not yield the amounts I was looking for, it smokes great and Im down to my last Oz right now, need to see if I can do without it just using ecothrive, worm humus, biobizz all mix soil and a handful of volcanic dust.  In the end I decided throwing in some guano also would be overkill.

I dunno what I'm doing, just muddling along based on what I read elsewhere and what I experience for myself, but now its time to stop faffing around and specialise, so am going to focus on organic soil grows.  Learn about sprouted seed tea and make my own fermented organic nutes.  Thats my new direction.

The BAC Bloom I have just had a quick read of and added to my list of things to check out.

@Inspiration101 Guano is just an organic fertilizer with a good kick of P which is what you need for flowering but it's usually spent by about 3-4weeks in so you have to make a tea with it or top dress, I like the ratio of the Plagron guano I have (N3%-P15%-K4%) it means if I add to fresh soil for the final pot up then I'm not overdosing on N as it tends to restrict bud development which is also why I'll be running low amounts of fishmix (N5%-P1%-K4%) as a soil beneficial, along with the other bits I have that help nutrient uptake and plant health, rather than a plant feed.

Cool, that's good to know.  I had it sussed way back, totally full tent, one cool tube, I have highlighted it in one of the pics.  Gotta get back to just keeping it simple :

Cropped  !

I have a busy time coming up so with that in mind I have decided to crop all the ladies now.

The Jack47's have not had the best flowering experience as I have clearly mistreated them somewhat - I am throwing away the maxibrite air cooled hoods as they appear to cause hot spots and burn the top buds.  I will also be going back to just using one bulb in the tent.

The Sweet Cheese was done, it as had 8 weeks and the mother was a 7 week finisher, unfortunately I chopped her down the night before so have no photos to share of her.

The Sweet Skunk definitely looked the best, 4 main colas running up to the sky as best they could - I guess they could have doubled in thickness had I taken more care of the environment and watering regime......

I have a load of trimmed branches hanging and drying at the moment I shall report back in a week or three with some final pictures and info on how things have ended.

My next project is underway and in my baby tent at the moment - 1 x Green Poison, 3 x Killer Kush fv, 4 x Cream47.  More to follow on that another time once I get past this busy work period.

For now, here are some photos of the ladies, I had hand picked off most of the leaves to show the buds better, just before I chopped them at the base to hang and dry.

Sticking with horizontal position, never done vertical.

All the flowers are dried and curing now, I haven't gotten around to weighing or taking photos of them but the smell coming from them is outstanding !  3 distinct flavours.  This time around Sweet Skunk smells the best with a very deep sweet skunky smell (just like the label says !), Jack47 has a lovely kinda durban poisony/diesel/rubber smell to it, and the sweet cheese doesn't have any real cheese smell to it which is a shame.  The best Sweet Cheese I have had was the auto version :)

All the same, on opening all three bags to see how they are curing put a smile on my face each time.

I will pull them out again in 2 weeks for a weigh up and some photos.
