im currently in week six of single cheese ibl from seed and smell reminds me of an old kandy kush x skunk tht gt as freebie from herbies which is no bad thng tho. Very sour almost burns nostrils. For me LA Cheese from big buddha best cheese iv grown so far.

hi briar yes bud i did change the light spectrum and the wattage

@ roughly 5 weeks veg under a 150 blue cfl

and 8 - 9 weeks 12/12 under a 600w dual spectrum sunmaster bulb

there seems to be some variation amongst phenotypes but this is not a bad thing as long as each one desirable

the la cheese isnt one ive tried yet im afraid

thought id put up some dry shots before i smoke it all

cheese ibl #1 (the grapefruit haze pheno) real stinky this one when you open the jar the stench is over powering

still got the sickly rotton smell but peppery at the same time until you snap a bud/branch then the grapefruit smell comes through

very sharp very fruity as i said before reminds me very much of a cindy 99 flower or a zesty type shiva

the high is a more sativa effect as in you can still function quite calming and chilled

tbh this plant was cropped early by id say 10 days at least

but is very nice all the same

this pheno i recently had tested by energy control in spain the reults were 26% thc

the cheese # 2 i havent managed to test yet but i now have an alpha cat kit

so will be testing both this and the #1 pheno again and posting the results here

this pheno is much more like the cheese in smell but with an added chocolate orange aroma to it

the taste on exhale is of herbal cheese

with this plant i get the hot sweats across my brow same as i do with the clone

again could of done with another weeks flower but it was and needs must

the high is a heavy indica/afghan effect , game over type weed

probably best as a nightime smoke but i cant resist

i really should be checking my bud more carefully god

posted this in my psychosis diary this morning also so copied in here aswell

right well i did the test last night and it was pretty successful to say it was my first go

so pretty easy to use once you get your head round things

read the instructions a few hundred times watched a few tube videos

pretty good for help too , got stuck sent an email 36hrs and i got a reply with all the info i needed to crack on

had an extra bit of help from @podencoid thanks again bud as he's used these kits before

didnt know which side to put my spots on

he sent a link for the diary of his test and told me the way

anyhow heres what went down

first thing first clean all work surfaces

bought a new sponge special for the job

STEP 1

put on the nitrile gloves before handling anything

weigh 100 mg of dried cannabis using the weighting paper provided

break it down and carefully place it into a clean extraction tube (eppendorf)

STEP 2

add 1ml of test fluid to the eppendorf using the 1ml syringe

immediatley close the extraction fluid container

it evaporates very quickly

STEP 3

wait 2 minutes for the extraction process to finalize

make sure all testing materials are covered by the extraction fluid

shake extraction tube one more time before taking sample

STEP 4

the test plate should be laid out with the coated side facing up

be carefull not to touch the white coated front of the plate

the 5 cm edges are the bottom and top and the 10 cm edges are the sides

make sure the onto the tlc plate are 0.5 cm away from the sides and 1cm away from the bottom

(here the 4 samples will be applied to lanes A, B, C, and D as a 1ul hot print as to make the most of my plates)

STEP 5

take out a capillary tube which may be used with the holder provided (pipette bulb)

carefully open the extraction tube

make sure the test plate is lined up and in position

use one capillary tube to take a sample by dipping one end into the sample fluid

the capillary tube will automatically take up 1ul of the extraction fluid

make sure the capillary tube is full before applying the sample

as said before a 1ul sample was taken from each strain and applied to its matching lane

as this was the most efficient way for me to use my plate

it is important to use a new capillary tube for each sample taken

the ink here was smudged whilst practising with water on the capillary tube and spotting them on paper

so dont worry no fluid was lost

STEP 6

set the oven @ 150 degrees celcius and allow it to heat up for 5 mins

set the timer for 5 minutes then place the plate in the oven glass side facing down coated side up

remove the plate after 5 minutes carefull its hot

allow to cool for 20 seconds

now if this was a full chemotype profile print then now is when we would apply the cold print for the acidic profile before decarboxilation but this is of no importance to me at this moment in time

with 3 minutes 50 seconds left to go i started to arrange the developing jar ready for developing

STEP 7

use the 3ml pipette to add 2ml of test fluid into the glass developing jar

immediatly close the test fluid container after use

repeat this process for each test plate in use

again screw the lid on the development jar immediatly before moving to the next

STEP 8

place the test plate into the development jar it will lean on a slight angle with the coated side facing forward and the sample spots at the bottom

make sure the corner edges of the test plate are touching the bottom of the jar

if the plate is not touching the the developing fluid might not be absorbed correctly

put the lid on the jar immediatley

STEP 9

allow the test to soak up the developing fluid untill it reaches the top of the plate (30 min)

do not let the test plate remain in the developing jar after the fluid has reached the top of the plate

this may blur the results

STEP 10

take the test plate out of the developing jar and allow to dry for approximatly 3 minutes in a ventilated area

it is important that the plate be as vertical as posssible whilst drying

lean on a paper towel

whilst the plate is drying prepare the colouring dye for the revealing phase

STEP 11

gently empty the contents of one microtube of dye into the dipping tray to be rinsed with water

pour over 20 ml of water using the 25ml beaker (i used aqua pura as it has no ec value)

rinse out any remaining dye from the microtube

gently move the tray back and forth to help dissolve the dye

after allowing 15 seconds prepare the test plate for dipping coated side down

proceed with dipping

ALLOW THE PLATE TO SIT IN THE DYE FOR 1 SECOND ONLY

lean the plate coated side facing up on the paper towel you have set up as a drying area

let the test plate dry for 4 minutes

now this is where you would scan the plate but i dont have a scanner so straight on to measuring

sebastian said to me that the 1ul is a half measure and is to be calculated x 2

heres the results :yep

lane D blue cheese # 3

il let you guys suggest to me what the results are but dont forget calculation is x 2

also just made my second ever bho run of cheese ibl # 1 and # 2 mixed trim thanks to @madgiz bho for dummies diary thanks bud

so il be testing this tommorow

some impurities there i can see this dropped from the queen bee thingy bit of trim dust

but just look at the colour woow cant wait to try this but im gonna leave it in the fridge overnight

arjan charges 80 euros a gram for this shit so im doing alright

its number #1 for me bud all day long

unfortunatly it has now been known to show a bannana or two under extremely stressfull conditions

but for the smoke this i can put up with shes delightful

im literally saying one or two thats it late on in flower before harvest

there was no seeds as they were removed immedietly

when i say extremely stressfull conditions i mean EXTREMELY stressfull

and it has only ever been on the odd clone

the seed plant never showed any hence why she was saved

@@budderz good to see the test laid out in steps but I couldn't work out the strengths from the pics. Is it the size of the dot that determines the % potency? What do you read them as?
