Greenclaws
Firstly a massive thank you to everyone involved in this, especially Tommy and Withnail, I can't thank you enough. Obligatory pack photo  The plan is to run 2 NFT trays in a staggered grow pattern allowing 3 plants per tray. This will stagger my harvests, and mean that there is one strain per tray. Without further ado, Lets get down to business Jack47 is the first strain out. It needs no introduction and I popped the beans into a glass of water to soak immediately! and waited..... and waited...... and waited some more................. Greenclaws
I got up at 7am this morning and crept downstairs quietly into the front room. Before I had even had a coffee, I went and picked the glass with the seeds in from under the table to see how much they had grown.... To my utter dismay and disappointment, The seeds were pretty much as I had left them One had sunk to the bottom, and with a swirl of the glass the other two were quick to follow. I took it into the bedroom to plan my next move. After hearing that you should put them on some kitchen roll to germinate I searched and found none in the house. I then looked in the bathroom to see if there was any toilet paper, but there was none. Then suddenly, I remembered! There is some toilet paper down the side of the bed, still infused with proteins and goodness , knowing that this would provide the extra edge needed to win this competition I set about arranging my seeds on the soggy white mess, covered then with another plate, and put them in a warm place to work their magic with mine. And waited..... then checked them again... still no change... and waited....

Grimweeder
man, you should just pot them up into their starter pots after soaking over night instead of the paper towel method there really is no need for all that faffing about with tissue an the thought of handling the seeds afterward they sprouted is just asking for trouble imo, it will probably be easier an safer for the lil seedlings in the long run as well. i also find they generally get off to a better start. but its up to u how u get em started. i just thought id offer a lil advice that would make your germing task much easier/safer. good luck with the grow. Greenclaws
Cheers Chilli, elstonite, PowerPainter, Jiffa, DaChunky1, Grimweeder for pooping in and waiting with me. I think we could be in for quite a long wait so I've put on a pot of coffee and broken out the brownies. Oh, and the buddha bag is still unclaimed if anyone is looking for a veg spot  Did anyone bring any smoke? my jars are embarrassingly empty and I wasn't expecting company
Greenclaws
I just checked on them and they still haven't turned into 6 footers haven't even stuck a lil tap root out to say hi-de-ho... I wasn't sure why they hadn't popped yet, and then i though... "If I was going to bodypop, I would need some music", but what to play to my girls?? Then it hit me, a seed would love Seeed!!! Am currently blasting this through the house so they can hear it, and waiting.... waiting.... (come to think of it, where's my bloody postman? I'm waiting for him too )

Greenclaws
BOOM! just 24hours later we have spunkination! (which I believe is the correct technical term for this method). though it could also have been the music i played them, in future i will use a control group to see if it really is effective, and try playing other tunes to gauge if plants have tastes and opinions. but that will be another diary... they even look a little bit like sperm themselves So, into the VEG AREA they go. The veg area is a built in wardrobe (l)130cmx(w)55cmx(h)160cm There is a 125w blue envirolight about 6 inches above the propagator, this is on 24h purely to keep temps/RH stable. temp 28c RH 80% Edited December 11, 2010 by Greenclaws

Greenclaws
Nick Mack, Ramblingmadman, and Tommy welcome to the Grandmas sweetie jar project 100% jack germination success!! kudos to SS I have some seedling porn for you, and there's some spare tissues down the side of the settee From left to right - Latoya 'Jack'son, Jackie Collins, and Jackie Evancho Currently, the gro-room is experiencing a set of upgrades to afford these ladies the comfort that they are accustomed to. They will probably spend the next few weeks in their current accommodation where they will recieve several beauty treatments, such as manicures, haircuts, and music therapy. I managed to raise the light up a touch so that the temps settled around the 26c mark.
