webby
Hi all, Got meself a bad prob I dried out some Snow White, chopped it off all the stems then whacked it into a jar. For the first few days the bud smelled ok. Kinda fruity type smell to it. Then the smell changes over night to a kinda cheese burger type smell (it's the closest I can get to the smell) The bud felt a bit damp at this stage so I take it outta the jar and lay out to dry even more. The bud is now totally dry and after 3 more days in the jar it started to stink of cheese burgers again I've now left the lid off for 4 days and it is still stinkin There is no sign of rot anywhere. What is the smell? What should I do? Should I just turn it all into bubble hash? Suggestions welcomed with open arms Have a good'n WEBBY
sittingrelaxing
What is the smell? it's normal, some smell strong some smell nice and some hardly smell at all... curing takes time, you was doing the right thing up until you left them out for 4 days.... the smell might get worse, but the taste should get better.... What should I do? keep them in the jars, opening them everyday to air them...closing the jar makes the water draw from the center of the plant, into the dry leaf tips, then opening dries the flower tips again. it dries more evenly and improves the taste... sr Edited January 2, 2004 by sittingrelaxing

Pip
£1.85 for a litre jar from Tesco's, they do a 1.5L one as well, can't remember how much though.
rudders
Try your local kitchenware store, they do those storage jars with the Grolsch type sealing lids. Theyre great for curing.
webby
The SW is in a curry sauce jar and the BBJ is in a Dolmio's sauce jar. The BBJ is smelling REALLY fruity now and the hit is absoloutly mind blowing I didn't realise that curing had such an effect. The SW is still stinking, the high isn't that great neither Mind you it was a nirvanna strain so I wasn't holding me breath anyways If you've never cured your bud before it is a must, well worth the wait and you can really notice the difference by each day that passes *takes a big whiff, mmmm fruity :bush: * All the best peeps WEBBY

J that sound horrid j,you can clean it with bleach and hot water then store some bicarbonate soda in it for a couple of weeks.... that should get rid of it... if you keep cut onions or curry in your fridge, a little bicarb in an eggcup will also stop your fridge smelling aswell.... you can also sprinkle it in your trainers to keep them fresh......... sr
