murphyblue
Some plant pics. First up in the veg cab we have the ones that came up later and i didnt over water them. They have taken to the bigger pots well and not skipped a beat. The flower cab is not bad plants have defo perked up since potting up and going in there. The Mighty gold bx1 is starting to look like having perfect structure for the big pot loads of lower branching already. Which will go nuts when i bend her in half. Not sure how old these are now will have to have a read back in my rolling diary anyways..... STAY SAFE OUT THERE.
murphyblue
Been to plot this morning to add straw and hay to bed and plot. This is what i used. I just spread some of each all over the bed and plot and semi dug it in. Surprising how much is in them small bales and they were cheap at £2.50 each and easily slip a couple in a rucksack. I used em last season but just chucked it around as a mulch and reckon the wildlife nicked most of it. I still need to rebuild around the outside of the bed in places where the logs have just rotted away but can do that anytime. So i is ready for plants in about 3-4 weeks weather dependant of course still to cold out there.
BluePeter
Are you turning the hay in amongst the soil or just using it as mulch?? Might be worth laying thin branches from the surrounding bushes on top of it if using it for mulch, to stop it blowing away

murphyblue
Bit of both @BluePeter i dug a lot of it into the soil what u can see in pics will use as a mulch. I know @OldFord been using hay for years but i only started using it last season.

murphyblue
Just been in the cab to water them so grabbed some pics. Back left is the fucktard the other one is in the veg cab which does look slightly different. But the obvious 2 are the UEL's back right and the one in the middle structure totally different so hopefull of a girl and a boyo. The couple of burnt tips are from when i potted up gave them a little fishmix maybe a tad too strong they will be fine though as been on water ever since and apart from a few burnt leaves they are growing well. The mighty gold is really taking off think when i get her in that pot she will really go for it. Trouble is the weather overnight temps nowhere near warm enough and don't reckon they will be for at least another 3-4 weeks.

murphyblue
I just been in the cab and think it's game on for my bean makeing sideline. I think i defo have a UEL boyo and going on structure it's looking pretty good i got a Fucktard boyo as well. Will start with the UEL's. Going on the differences i think first pic is a girlie not showing yet and i am 99% sure the second pic is a boyo if u zoomy in u can see his bits on the node just below the main top. Using the same logic i have 2 different versions of the fucktard. Again think girlie first pic boyo second reasoning the fucktard in second pic has the very same structure as the UEL boyo. Mighty gold bx1. Groupies the other 2 plants are subbies. Went back in and put the 2 suspected boyos together in the veg cab. New groupies. They looking a bit stroppy but they will be fine. Anybody know how i can hold back the boys i need to get whatever girls above out before i start em flowering. I should be ok with popping seeds as everything else i pop now will be 10-12 days and out so wont be showing sex so wont have to worry about a bit of stray pollen. I have a really good feeling about this season think we are all in for a bumper year so....... STAY SAFE OUT THERE INNIT.
Michael Luchóg
I hope and I'm confident that the seed will be decent. Best of luck with everything else. I grew some U.E.L. , and made another generation but most or maybe all of the seed were aborted, empty shells. It was very fast to mature and greasy/sticky with resin ,atypical of a lot of outdoor flowers. I'm sure though, had I grown the same U.E.L. last year they'd have been leafy and rotting on the stems!
Hole in the clouds
Looking good you’re making me jealous can’t wait to pop seeds. It’s been a cold spring for sure! Probably get warm very quickly at some point though! I know you’re a fan of the mighty gold can I ask when it usually finishes for you? I’ve got myself a pack to try this year.
murphyblue
@Hole in the clouds really glad u asked dude cos it prompted me to have a read back of my old diaries. And honest assesment for me at lat 50ish i think she needs middle of October further east or at a lower lat i reckon end September begining October. She is pretty hardy though will take a pasting weather wise but will succumb to the rot. And also be very weary as she bloody stinks even in veg even now when i open the cab thats all i can smell is her and she's little yet. I have grown her for about 4-5 years now i think and have always brought home more than i lost and for round my way thats bloody brilliant. Right can't stop gotta go cook dinner a murphy's special a cottage pie with potato carrot and swede mash loads of butter splash of salt and white pepper jobs a goodun. 4
