I didn't do a diary as such but there is a thread called "Bottomless Pots; an experiment." The info you want is on pages 4 & 5.

A good free draining medium is all you'll require, she doesn't like too much food.

Cheers bud you've been most helpful

@Pepe Ramon

I am considering how to make my compost blend, I think verve will be too damp. I have found a compost specifically for Succulents and cacti, Very free draining with with lots of sand and perlite, Do you think this would be a good choice? I am unsure of nutrient content in the compost, I am assume it will be quite low which I think would be ideal.

What are your thoughts?

Use the Verve it will be fine, mine was in the cheapest shop bought universal compost that I could find so don't start overthinking.

I wouldn't use cacti compost, if you think you need more drainage just add a little grit to what you normally use.
