If you want to breed, for toughness you don't put your subjects in optimal conditions to find the ones that might tolerate adverse ones. That's what 'genetic selection' means. You apply your environmental pressure and choose the ones that can handle it. I want them to be capable of handling UK weather as best I can. This is as much an intellectual endeavour as wanting to occasionally get stoned. I can accept that people may find my approach a bit weird.

If the dark phase is cool enough, it can happen. Mine are bright purple. Mine have been vegging about  12-15c at night.

I’ve had plants grow out side that were never that colour, down to single figures at night, how many photons are you hitting them with, what’s your DLI?
