In my shed I used tube heaters like that with a celotex floor then I covered it in at the top of the pot level to create a separate area just to heat the roots, I stuck the probe in a pocket taped on the side of a pot.

 

I put more tube heaters on top of the cover to heat the upper airspace  and controlled them from an inkbird thermostat with time control settings so I could use the temperature changes to control stretch and make the flowers purple by running cold nights.
