badbillybob
do you put these in a root it cube before planting in the hydroton, mate? and iirc you said one feed a day for 15 minutes, aye?
badbillybob
duh, just noticed first post. reason i ask was i was contemplating not using a cube, just putting seed into hydroton
stu914
@badbillybob If you get a decent taproot on the seed first, then it might work going straight into pebbles. I'd be concerned it could dry out or get washed away when watered though. I tend not to faff about with seeds like some, straight into a rootit cube and within 3/4 days there's usually something showing, then into pebbles. One feed a day is right at the start when it's tiny, then more frequently as it grows. The one above is now on 15mins every two hours...

Seems to be working rather well atm I'm pleased to say...

stu914
Afternoon all, I've kept one back in the growfridge to develop into a mum, the other 7 are in flower...day one... I've gone back to single pots for this run...easier to move around... Res temps 24c...EC 1.2 (fed every four hours) Room temps 22c - 25c Humidity 40-50% Virtually no transplant shock as these figures are pretty much identical in both rooms. Very pleased with these so far 'til next time
stu914
Evening all, What a difference in only 4 days, these girls have gone nuts and doubled in size. Trimmed off the underfluff and tied the main stems over to break dominance and encourage the sides. 'til next time
stu914
Evening all, One week 12/12 today and they've bounced back nicely... Reservoir change today...nice and easy with a drain outside the door, maxijet 1000 in the res and it's emptied in minutes...refilled using the 100ltr water butt, nicely warmed to room temps... Jacked the EC up a notch to 1.5 and switched to flower nutes. Fertigated 15mins on 45mins off 24/7. I'm happy with this final system, good reliable results with minimal effort...
