I don't really 'get' games much these days

i really can't see the appeal myself, i tried that Red Dead Redemption, i nearly fell asleep in the first 20 mins lol not my style.

oddly enough someone posted a pic on reddit yesterday of some lads in an arcade back in the early 80's, man that was ace, you could play the latest games and socialise at the same time, miss those exciting moments, we have everything we want when we want it these days, kids wouldn't understand.

Nice timing as I was just reading that it's possible to play classic Xbox games online with modified console again now with https://insignia.live/connect

Which is nice cos the Xbox was my preferred emu platform for many years in the naughties and teens

I just hope it still boots up and doesn't need a new battery for the clock/bios

This was the best game on the snes spent hours button bashing on this in my early teenslol

And one of the finest games on PC Engine as well. A remarkable feat, squeezing a game like this onto a credit card sized cart, then running it on what is essentially an 8bit system.

I love me a bit of retro gaming. Ive built up quite a collection of roms which I emulate on my pc with LaunchBox or on my nvidia shield. The old arcade classics are my faves , brings back great memories of being a kid

My brother has two arcade machines, the bastard. One which is a standard, dual player jobbie with six buttons apiece, so SF2 friendly. He has some proper jamma boards for it, but also runs Mame through it which has zillions of games on it. Then he got an original Outrun machine as well (not the seated one) but it's still cool AF.

Like most I had them all but lost them over the years probably in lofts as we moved houses. Started with the commodore vic20 then the commodore 64 with classics like Daley Thomson’s decathlon and jet set Willy. Then you were either Atari st or Amiga 500 just like the Xbox or ps platforms today in terms of preference. Loved my ps1 though especially when we learnt the art of “snatching” sticking a paper tab in to keep the disc spinning with the lid open to swap original disc for the bootleg one at certain points lol those were the days

Was thinking of forgotten/underrated retro fighting games and thought this was the place to post. IMHO two of the best fighting games ever were on the Dreamcast - Powerstone and Powerstone 2. Brilliant games, a franchise that should be resurrected (unlike a lot of game franchises that should have been given a decent burial long ago). And I fondly remember Weaponlord on the SNES, one of the deepest fighting games of its time with an intricate combo system (including brutal finishers), but a game that hardly anyone seems to have played :sadwalk:

I wish they would release the original Gauntlet on a home box, that was an excellent multiplayer game

Shots now hurt other players.

Elf needs food badly.

Elf is about to die.

lol

That's how it always went with us, my mate Ian always played the elf and never understood that it's a team game and always rushed to get the food, even when someone else needed it, so once it got to shots hurting other players everyone else ganged up and killed him lol
