He grows autos. Not sure they'll grow enough on 12/12. But I'm no specialist.

Jeremy from buildAsoil has done a side by side with autos with one on 12/12 from seed. That's just one example I've seen. Seems to work fine if you need to change it up a bit for whatever reason.

That's good to know, thanks for the info.

@DrumBoy420 Read as many diaries as you can and read them all the way through. There isn't anyone on here that hasn't worked through a list of problems and shared them in the diaries. It is a great way to learn what can go wrong and what novel solutions there are to a problem. Unfortunately things going wrong is all part of the learning process, quite often a big part. Try not to get disheartened and give up, it is totally worth persevering, once you find your feet you will love it.

take them outside . Free light , use the money you save for an LED for future.

You got the tent if you want to light dep them ( ie force flower on 12 hrs dark).

Thanks for your suggestions guys, appreciate the support! A lot to learn with this and its all a learning curve I guess! I apologise for being miserable haha

I've started another one which I'm going to leave outside and see what happens! I will also see how the AC unit thing I bought goes and I will find a humidifier also and keep trying!

I have changed my cycle to 12 on 12 off as suggested - makes sense at the moment due to the heat! But I'm gonna look through some diaries and hopefully learn some things!

You're always going to be fighting a losing battle in a wooden shed.

Is it possible to move the tent to somewhere more suitable?

If not lights on over night is the best option.

@Arbre Medicinal sadly due to space I don’t have many options! Will keep trying to get these temps down. In the winter it will be fine with a HPS but summer time is proving very difficult!

yeah my lights come on at 6pm and go off at 10am now.

Quick question guys..so I have my filter fan and ducting set up in my tent obviously but I didn’t realise your meant to have another one drawing fresh air into the tent ( I feel incredibly stupid rn) - what’s the best option for this? I can always put another hole in the side of the shed and feed through some ducting. Any suggestions on a fan? And also where does the fan actually go? Hard to see on some of the diaries

It's not essential, lots of people including myself just use a passive intake. But it could possibly help with bringing your temps down a bit. Essentially you want something a with a bit less power than the extractor because it won't have the resistance form a CF and you want to maintain negative pressure.

When you say you don't have many options, all I hear is you have options. I'd make use of them bro.

I grew last year in the heatwave, I started with HPS and noped out after 3 weeks of exceptionally bad veg, even by my standards lol

I got an LED in, still hot because heatwave, but found that cooling my intake air made massive changes.

Tent was 33/34 without cooling, dropped to 29/30 with.

I kept a passive intake with an overpowered outtake (same tent as you, only a 6 inch variable extractor but on full pelt) and ducted out through a wall vent. Intake was at the bottom just a piece of ducting with frozen bottles stuffed in there, so everything that passed caught some of the cold/humidity. Was a ball ache because you'd need 4 bottles in rotation in the freezer and swapping them every 5 to 6 hours was long but worth it. Can't upload atm but the critical I grew was the single best trio of plants I've ever grown on my own

As far as an intake is concerned, just get a length of ducting going from outside the tent (outside the shed if possible so it's cooler air) to inside the tent. Use one of the bottom holes in the tent so the cool air is coming away from the fan and not getting sucked straight back out. Oh and pop an old tight or stocking over one end to stop any bugs and nasties getting in.

As for heat,.. I feel your pain! I was intending firing up the tent for a cheeky auto grow but as soon as I turn on the HPS the temps start to shoot up.. Outdoors for the win I reckon.

Awesome thank you!

I’ll take and upload a picture of my current set up later, need some advice on placement!

my extractor doesn’t have settings, just on and off - worth getting something to control that?

I also have my extractor ducting coming out of the top of the tent and curling round the back and out of the hole I made in the side of the tent - realise the air probably isn’t circulating very well due to the bends etc in the ducting

@blerie420 yeah man I guess I do have options. Was just having a moan haha

a lot of useful information here, thanks dude! Will look into the ducting and stuff and how to cop the air coming in!

Being able to control fan speed is useful but not essential. Mine is the same as yours, on or off and I've not had too many issues.
