Old fans work with newer EC type controllers?

I only have EC fans in use now,

I have no knowledge of how well they can reduce the speed of old style RVKs without causing unwanted noise.

That's actually really helpful, thanks. I realised I'm gonna be running LED fully in the end so might not even need the intake.

@mikeydoughnut is there any way of telling if they are the newer V2 or older version?

@Axiom I forgot about your question on efficiency and lifespan 

 

Yes they can end up using a lot less energy when running on lower speeds 

 

As for lifespan,

they technology hasn’t been in our grow rooms for long enough to say.

 

But in theory as they often run less than full speed,

this should mean less wear and tear on bearings.

No they’re the AC only version and there’s one with AC and heating control.

Fair do’s I suppose. Doesn’t make sense given no toes are being trodden on. It’s for the members benefit too. But rules are rules regardless of how little sense they make …. Unless new sponsors are in the pipeline

Oth were shit hot at sourcing odd bits and bobs and Adam was/is just top notch.

 

Typically I only started using the grow sponsors shortly before the arse fell out of the market

I mean for growing tackle. But bargains. Not everyone has control LED money innit and once yer got a light, well, yer got a light innit. If yer see a bargain while internet window shopping post it for folk who might find it handy. There’s no sponsors for all the consumables. 
 

e2a - and if I had any spare brass I’d bet 90% of us on here are fucking pepped

Took the punt buying EC fans and im not disappointed, I reckon my 8",6" and controller cost less than the GAS Enviro V2.

Got mine from the official distributor for UK, easy enough to find on the search engines. They have a name similar to a company we all know by now.
