I'm rather looking for something that lets me get away for at least a few days.

I'm thinking along the lines of plumbing my run off to a boiler condensate pump and either pumping to waste with coco or back to the res as a recirculating setup.

There's a little NFT table that would fit my drobe but I'd lose valuable headroom.

That’s all it is @Wacky Wardrobe. Just to free me up for one maybe two watering events. I don’t have a great deal of light so I can’t go too mental hence my lack of concern at playing mrs mop once a day. The run off will be minimal really. 
I don’t think we can go far wrong copying billy or stu

I've just installed 13mm soaker hose in a project I'm setting up, I don't think it's bendy enough to make rings as small as that but you can get 4mm soaker hose that may be a bit easier to manipulate.

 

A 2ltr/hr stake should cover a 3L pot though, I have some of those too for another project.
