I'm struggling a little with this whole process mainly because my extractor fan isn't adjustable (but essential) and therefore i feel my harvest is drying too quickly.

Do you hang whole plants with fan leaves still on? That will help. Also pushing them all close together. You could always make another box to put them in, with grates but not too many openings, then put that inside the tent. Or put the bud branches in brown bags on day 2 or 3.

From this fascinating but lengthy YouTube video all about drying and curing and whats going on - well worth a watch:

I'm 15 minutes in. It's interesting stuff, but I wish the speaker would get a bit more life into his presentation lol Bit of a monotone. I'll have to sit up straight and focus; it's like being back in school lol

of course drying is different to curing........

they shall remain nameless

it was for drying. I used the technique on my 1st - and it worked, but after that I got some mould.

I wouldn't use plastic for the start of the drying (when its wetter) and the curing. I would maybe, as you say, put the nugs in a plastic tub to slow down the drying - as they had been snipped from the stem at harvest and wet-trimmed, then laid out on a cardboard tray to dry.

That was my latest effort though.

My next will be hung whole without trimming for at least a week - as seems to be a better way of drying from those in the know on here.
