Bigger pots full of coco hold water for longer, and a young plant that hasn't rooted yet will struggle adapting to the boggy environment.

alright fella, i appear to be guilty of the above in a rush to get some additional clones in, any ideas how to combat? ive thought about starving the plant out a little, maybe feeding a little further out to make the root search out?

If your young plant is in a very big pot that has stagnant water in it, pluck it out with both your hands around the root, take loads of coco with it and put it in a fresh smaller pot with new dry coco, water it once with runoff and let it be, as long as it's not swamped and the roots can breathe, everything will be okay. :):D
