Dutch Passion ran an article on plant tissue culture (which I think is what you're talking about) a few years back iirc.

It's essentially a tiny piece of plant tissue suspended in a solution of food/water/hormones in a petri dish, they were hoping to miniaturise/package the tech into a form similar to seed (again iirc).

E2+

Plant tissue culture is a collection of techniques used to maintain or grow plant cells, tissues or organs under sterile conditions on a nutrient culture medium of known composition. It is widely used to produce clones of a plant in a method known as micropropagation.

A quick look tells me theres a company specialising in hemp clones using the technology so..

Dunno, maybe not financially viable enough compared to seed production?

idk, if you were promised the actual clone in seed form of cheese, psycho and all the other big names i bet you could be easily asking £50 a seed, if not more if it grew true?

all i remember was it being touted as the next big thing, perhaps i misremember, it was a good while ago now.

No I think you remember right mate, at least I remember the same thing which would be odd us both having identical false memories (vince territory, Mandela effect or whatever its called? lol

When you look at what some of those "elite clones" get touted for to the gullible fashionistas maybe that's why they wouldn't want them suddenly available cheaply enmasse, maybe there are issues with trademarking or something stopping them rolling it out..?

Anyway enough speculating, if anyone can shed any light on the matter it will be @DutchPassionTony

Maybe he knows

Quite a bit more than that I imagine. Proper cheese in seed form, i'd pay .....oh i don't know come to think of it lol More than 50 though and i don't like spending money unless i can eat it or drink it.

Never heard of psycho though
