Billy2Hats
Late spring I did some cuttings and it turned out there was one surplus to requirements...I was going to compost it but got distracted and it was left in the garden where it was forgotten about (it was in a 6" pot of coco coir with no feed) anyway...I noticed a few days later the pot had fallen over and the plant was on it's side trying to curl upwards....as I had never intended to grow this plant I didn't actually give a shit and assumed it would be a matter time before it died....however it just sat there on its side neither growing or dying like it was stuck in limbo...about a month later I planted some tomatoes in 10l pots and on a whim decided to plant the forlorn cutting....to my surprise it responded very well and was soon flourishing...to cut a long story short, it's been repotted since then (after becoming rootbound) and is still going....here's a picture...to the best of my knowledge it's a G13 Purple Haze...hopefully it will finish before bud rot appears...I estimate about 10 days to go (obviously the plant needs to be obscured from prying eyes so it's sitting in an area that only gets direct sunlight for a limited period so it's not amazing but it's a nice bonus to have got from a whim)...there's a baked bean size tin in the picture to give an idea of scale..

Billy2Hats
I just inspected for bud rot (happy to report I didn't find any) so took the opportunity to take a quick pic... ....I have to admit, I'm really looking forward to sampling it...

Billy2Hats
Welcome to the sunlit budlands...I don't remember this strain looking so tasty when grown indoors...I'm happy to chop anytime from now onwards...no sign of bud rot but I reckon it's just about finished...
Dodgee
It's not a brucey bonus, it's a Billy bonus!! Nice result for a throw away plant bud I'd be well happy with that like

OldFord
@Billy2Hats looking tasty fella !! You may just have provided me with another garden strain to trial next season cheers Have you had any issues with her ? I have tried a few G13 strains outdoor now with no joy, the closest i got was with their Pineapple Express , it was great right up until the last week then it seemed to rot overnight sadly, i did salvage enough to fill a small jar though. Decent but not good enough to keep as a regular strain. Please give us a heads up on the cured end product, no interest in weight only taste, flavour , effect and duration. All the best

Also I'm at Latitude 52 for those that factor these things in... Edited October 15, 2020 by Billy2Hats
MindSoup
By this time of year a lot of strains would have purple hews, its down to the cold temps. I would be surprised if a haze strain managed to finish outdoors in the UK, but crazier things have happened.

Well it's been quite a while but better late than never...(from memory) my initial impression when cropping was the flavour was actually quite yucky...a bit reminiscent of rancid vomit but fortunately it dried and cured into something far more agreeable aromatically...in the end it had quite a pleasant flavour and nice buzz...the main disappointment was the buds were very wispy with hardly any body to them so it yielded far less than anticipated but since it was a bonus, who really gives a fuck.....I'm inclined to agree with @MindSoup...viewed in hindsight it probably wasn't the G13 Purple Haze...anyway since it went reasonably well....this year I've tucked another photoperiod (Serious Seeds Chronic) in the corner of the garden and am hoping for the best (hence the thread update)....here she is enjoying some Autumnal sunshine....I reckon there's about a month to go until chopping..note the rain shelter improvised from an old greenhouse frame and a clear PVC corrugated roof panel (Wickes £12)....I'm hoping she'll get a certain amount of protection from budrot if I can keep her dry... .....and a closer look at the bud... Billy2Hats
@Lenkey To be truthful I didn't specifically choose this strain as much as it chose itself ....I popped half a dozen different seeds....the best five went into a tent and the slowest one was used as this year's backyard bonus...it just happened to be Serious Seeds' Chronic...not sure how suitable it is for an outdoor UK grow...next year I'm going to try and take it more seriously and try and have a proper stab at it by getting some seeds more appropriate for UK outdoor conditions from our resident outdoor specialists...Alfemco or Real Gorilla Seeds..
Lenkey
Nice. It was a random bagseed grown in my garden that got me interested in outdoor stuff. It was a revelation to see it succeed by my backdoor. Grew delicious seeds fruity chronic juice once which is chronic X white widow, it finished nicely late October SE England. Royal mazar from RGSC are lookin hench this year though, fingers crossed for a few weeks still.
