UPDATE :

Temps (lights on) : 27c

             (lights off) : 22c

Humidity - 38% - 61%

Hello all I hope you're keeping well.

As it's early days with not much actually happening I thought I'd bring this diary up to speed with some proper background information.

I mentioned in the opening post that I'll be using Intense Nutrients and using them as per schedule. Well, not much use info wise without the schedule huh...

large.large.Organix-A5-GS-Download_002.jpg.9e39ea7569c5bc9b5a72efad374ac012.jpg

Because I pot up regularly I will be using this schedule from 2 weeks before flipping to 12/12. I've been trialing the bloom with my current run which includes the first HSO/Sherbinski colab 'The New'. I've found I needed to soften my water to use full schedule so I have lol

I should mention I've experienced water issues in the past so I have all manner of water amending paraphernalia Inc RO, filters, mono cal and mg etc. The bonus of this obsession is I can tailor my water to suit feed and plant (this really feeds my ocd). I have now done this with this run, the little ones seem to be enjoying it.  For those keeping score, my water is now medium (85ppm cal : 26ppm mg)

And now the reason this diary exists, the plants

SBG 1 & 2

Purple Matcha 1 & runty

large.DSC_0237.jpglarge.DSC_0238.jpglarge.DSC_0239.jpglarge.DSC_0240.jpglarge.DSC_0241.jpg

As you can see they are starting to get roots down and the upward growth is pretty uniform. Runty mcstumpz will hopefully catch up. I like them to get good roots early so won't be potting up next time.

Before we go, a quick check on the Pandometer.....

Apparently panda thinks it could be more exciting lol

Until next week all, thanks for looking

UPDATE:

Environment - light cycle  18/6

large.DSC_0272.jpg

Stable although humidity could be higher, the cupboard is not the best but its a good starter spot until they get potted up next week and moved into the tent with 400w MH

Now the girls :

SBG #1  -

large.DSC_0254.jpglarge.DSC_0255.jpglarge.DSC_0260.jpg

SBG #2

large.DSC_0257.jpglarge.DSC_0258.jpglarge.DSC_0261.jpg

large.DSC_0271.jpg

As you can see the SBG's have gotten a wiggle on and we are now up to node 4+, I have started them on the propagation level feed as they are starting to use up that N with this spurt. They are pretty uniformed so far and are trouble free to this point. They are in unamended Clover peat and have had only water a a couple of prop feeds.

PM #1

large.DSC_0263.jpglarge.DSC_0264.jpglarge.DSC_0262.jpg

PM #2  ( aka Runty McStumpz)

large.DSC_0267.jpglarge.DSC_0268.jpglarge.DSC_0266.jpg

large.DSC_0270.jpg

The Purple Matcha have thinner leaves and are not as vigorous at this point ( it is very early days yet) although Runty may well be a tad on the dwarfish side, she is fully developed and is stacking nodes with the big girls lol  They are on the exaxt same feed regime as the SBG and will remain hopefully until harvest

The feeding is becoming more frequent for all 4 of them and much like The New, they appear to have strong rooting systems and definitely like plenty and often with the water.I expect this will be their last week in the starter pots, so next weeks update should include some root porn and for those of you that like it messy I'll be getting the granules out and chucking them about too lol

At this point I'd like to add that I had considered doing a living soil diary but, when I did my prep and sent my pic to the guru's for advice, I was told I needed to get a better grasp of what living soil is.... here's my attempt for you to judge for yourself, it took ages to do, I even kept it really moist with no blumats

Almost forgot ...........

Pandometer says.............................................. (due to COVID-19 Pandometer is self isolating and has been temporarily replaced by a weasel)

Who is as yet unmoved ...

As always thanks for looking in and see you next week for some porn lol

UPDATE:

Vitals - 23c (lights off)  29c lights on

           RH 41%  -   73%

As the 4 girls have started shooting up I have added 0.5 m/l of grow to their feed and they are now nearly feeding daily so, its time to get them some new boots!

The San Bacio have been quicker to get going and thus far have been the more aggressive growers but, as I found with The New, they are all very quick to lay down roots and are all very thirsty.

Now initially I started them is simple unamended clover. For the pot up I have done some additions to help them along:

Equal parts Clover and Wormcast

Dolomite lime

Kelp Meal

Rice hulls (aeration 10%)

large.DSC_0284.jpglarge.DSC_0283.jpg

OG granules in the holes ready for the girls...

I will be adding Ecothrive Charge to the final pots but not the interim. They will be in these pots for 2-3 weeks before the final pot up into 6.5's. I will be topping and training them to between 6 - 12 tops depending on growth and speed etc, I like to try to keep them to about 75cm before flip but thats not always possible which is why my flowering tent is a 2.2m tall one lol I need to seriously work on training methods. Anyway enough of me prattling on inanely, here is why this is here, the girls!

San Bacio 1 & 2 first

(Runty Mcstumpz)

large.DSC_0291.jpg

Runty may be small but she is perfectly formed lol

PM #1

large.DSC_0292.jpg

As you can see , for 18 days above ground I am pretty happy with the roots and the overall performance. They are trouble free early stages.

Same order post pot up

large.DSC_0293.jpglarge.DSC_0294.jpglarge.DSC_0295.jpglarge.DSC_0296.jpglarge.DSC_0297.jpg

As you can see, the structure on the SBG is lovely and tight. Nice compact internode spacing early on which should give us some good bud sites. I expect it to be typical US genes in structure, sturdy stems with spaced out tight golf ball sized glittery nugs up and down the stems. I'm hoping the BHB brings some longer running colas but we will see.

large.DSC_0299.jpglarge.DSC_0300.jpglarge.DSC_0301_1595967741968.jpglarge.DSC_0302_1595967533021.jpglarge.DSC_0303_1595967552800.jpglarge.DSC_0304_1595967574738.jpg

The PM's appear to want to space their sites a bit more like the New but overall I'd say early days they are solid structure wise. I will be topping them this week and starting to prep them for training. The run in front of this one is about 3 and a bit weeks away from the chop but, as I dry in the flowering space there will be an additional 2 weeks veg whilst it all dries and because its also HSO x Sherb here is a pic of the New (tall pheno) currently flowering because bud porn is ace lol

large.DSC_0274.jpg

This is on Intense Nutrients so I could get a grip on how it performs and doses etc. I had to dial back a touch v the schedule mainly because I surmise that the formula is geared for soft water and mine is med/hard. All that said the overall colour and the bud formation is pretty spot on and I love the simplicity of a single bottle bloom feed. To that end I have just ordered another set of the organix range as I think I have found my feeds until I finally sort out a proper no-til set up.

Thats it for this update, thank you for looking in and keep your gardens green :bong:

Almost forgot the pandometer (Our resident giant panda is still in quarantine so his weekly replacements this week are cousins)

large.11_super_panda_bros.jpeg

We appear to have peaked their interest with our roots and buds :v:

They look like they could do some damage.

Any webs?

I´d double the strength of my Neem Oil spray.

Go for their eyes.

I mistakenly used a bamboo barrier, I'm hoping their cuz is well next week or they might eat my crop lol

Great start @Oldbear

I'll be watching on to see how this goes, I've been looking at Intense Nutrients myself recently and everyone has positive things to say about them.

Best wishes with the rest of the grow mate.

Very nice root development! All of your plants show lots of vigor and nice medium internodal spacing. I bet some already have that smell on the stem rub. @Oldbear

This looks very promising, especially with a look at your ‘New’. Healthy plant if I have ever seen one. Luscious green with a vicious serration on the leaf. I bet she is rocking that Gas OG Funk  with a little twist.

Thank you for the kind words, my sense of smell isn't great but The New definitely has that gas funk, really deep and penetrative odour. I can't yet pick up anything from the other 4 but that's more likely my old fooked sense of smell lol
