Sneaky lockdown grow (seb88)

Recommended Posts

Welcome to my 2020 guerilla grow :)

I realise I've missed the start date cut off, my apologies :bangin: getting to the plot has been a bit of a challenge this year...

I got all the big stuff to the site a couple of months back when driving was an option, these days it's a 10mile round bike ride to get there, I've had to do a fair few trips taking up bits of compost and pots etc lol

I had my first go outdoors in this plot last year, planted 2 left over plants I was going to ditch from an indoor grow and they turned out pretty nice to say I did no site prep at all!

So this year I decided to put a bit more work in....

I'm not going to be able to take seedlings to the plot so everything will be done on site.

Started out by digging up the marshy top grass back in January. I've not turned any nutrients into the soil, everything has been top dressed.

I've used chicken manure pellets and some fish, blood and bone mix.

The plot is very close to a stream and I'm hoping the water table is high enough for me not to need to do any watering. Everything else on the plot seems to thrive.

So first of all a big thanks to @HSO-Mark @Dinafem-Mark for giving out the free beans, much appreciated!

I'm going to use this diary for both dinafem and HSO strains in this thread if that's ok?

Here's the strains I'm growing:

Dinafem - Deep sweet grapefruit

Dinafem - Gorilla

HSO - fast flowering OKGZ

HSO - fast flowering green crack

RGS - DFG

Female seeds - Critical Sour

Seeds have all been planted this weekend.

I'm using @Amarillo slims nursery box idea for the babies.

It's made up of a large storage box, polystyrene wrapped in capillary matting with the peat pots sitting on this.

I've just filled it up with Rhizotonic mixed into water.

As you fill the box the polystyrene floats and raises the pots, giving enough water to get them started over the next few weeks, they will then get planted out in the open.

Still to do:

- there's a small tree to take down

- add more supports for the chicken wire fence

- get some slug pellets down

Here's a few pics

Now it's time to pray to the sun gods for some beautiful growing weather!! :)

Good luck to everyone this year!

Cheers

Seb

Cheers lads :)

Popped back yesterday to check progress. Had some chilly nights this last week so wasn't too sure what to expect...

Result :hippy:

Currently germed going from rows left to right

Dinafem - Deep sweet grapefruit - 3/5

Dinafem - Gorilla 4/5

HSO - fast flowering OKGZ 4/5

HSO - fast flowering green crack 5/5

Even if no others come through I've already got enough to fill my prepped plots :)

Weather looks to be improving so I'll get myself a mosquito net to replace the box lid in the next week or so.

One thing I'm not sure about... The girls are in biobizz light mix and they are just getting water/Rhizotonic. Will I need to give them any other nutrients before they go into the ground or should they be fine without?

Cheers

Seb

Not sure about that, but please don't cut that tree down!!    It will lead to bad hoodoo man...... :scared::scared::scared: . Guaranteed to bring the treed gods and 100 rabbits down on your plot.

@Lean Bear yeah I'd rather not take it down tbh, it's not that big/bushy anyway so will leave it in place and hopefully the tree god's will look favourably on the rest of my efforts :yinyang:

Germination looks to be going quite well with 16 babies above ground  :yep:

Keep that tree dude we could use all the luck we can get this season  ;)

Until next time, stay safe out there

Turned up to a frosty plot early this morning, there was a couple of mm on the outside of the box but the girls look like they are fairly protected...

Tonight gets even colder (1degC) and then it looks to be warming up for the foreseeable.

Pic is the same orientation as my OP

  • 2 weeks later...

Hi all :)

We had a few cold nights a week or so ago and they were all looking a bit sad and droopy when I went to check on them. Thankfully it's been decent since then and they've all perked up nicely

The girls are out of the box and in the ground!

I have...

3 x dinafem sweet deep grapefruit

3 x dinafem gorilla

4 x HSO fast flowering OGKZ

4 x HSO fast flowering green crack

Here's a few pics, I will add some more of each plant once they've bulked out a bit, they all look samey right now
