AutoMaster
Awaaaa........... StarRyder.............. remember it well,............ The Edge, 75% Sativa dom. For me thats nice. it's a nice old school skunk, that means Henks SK1 !!........... and that usually means good night !!........... The allmix with a nice nute content will be needed. I recommend topping centre trunk of the edge at division, around the 18-22 day veg mark. Dont exceed 35 days veg Styers...... You may just get time to top 2-3 of the biggest side bows, before the fans begin to stagger on the bows, and are not opposite each other. This is the rise of flower hormone ethylene. And dose happen, under 18/6 veg. before the switch, if veg is unduly extended. The edge is hungry, unlike the starryder. The 11ltr pots 4no in the roof 120x120 topped would work well......... with a zero sun summer, your not having heat issues !! good luck for the gro bruv...............nice choices, atb Automaster

AutoMaster
The reason i mentioned topping may be a good idea. Is you grow cab is 1.8m in height. take off the 0.5m for light arrangement leaves 1.3m, take off pot height, at 0.5m, only leaves 0.8m or 80cm for growth height. As mentioned in copy above; The Edge has skunk appearance, but slightly more "Stretch"........ So, without topping, if they exceed, 80cm, you will be up at the light. Not a prob with LED's, but HPs, you wont want the plant to be closer than, 40-50cm to the light, due to temps exceeding 28c etc. You see the issue with stretch strains in an 180cm tall cab. So you see why i suggest, not vegging beyond 35 days. The second reason for 35 day max, is, somewhere around the 25-28 day, in veg, the nodes will begin to stagger the bows and bracts. Due to the rise of ethylene, the flowering hormone. if you continue past 35 days, on 18/6, you will stress the plant, as it is already moving to flower, and showing it with the rise of ethylene staggering the node bows. The rise of ethylene staggering bows is when you should naturally switch 12/12. what i have found, is that, a short veg, say 15-20 days, will not reduce stretch, the plant simply makes up for it, during the early days of the switch 12/12, pre flower stretching on 12/12. And will still express full height characteristics, strain and geno dependent of course. .And dose not shorten the overall life span of the plant. Topping, unlike scrogging, dose not extend the grow by the delay period of srog recovery in veg, around 14-21 days delay, usually. So a combination of topping and then training the twin center trunks one left one to the right, yoyo's etc. Will control height, without affecting the overall yield capability. The side bows then move up, alongside the LST twin centre trunks to take light position. Topping the main stem once at 18 to 22 days veg, redirects some of the energy budget to the lower bows. And ensure these develop larger flowers than would otherwise be the case. As otherwise, she will direct all energy to her prize centre colas. topping delivers full yield capacity. While giving some height control. Combined with LST. In adition, a greater number of slightly smaller flowers, negates the possibility of "Botrytis" in large center colas, the diameter of a coke can !! and better air flow around the numerous flowers. To avoid mildew, keep Relative Humidity below 60% and temps not above 30c, and you wont have an issue with indigenous Botrytis, or white mildew. allowing the flowers when large, to dry out, between watering is a good idea. As constantly soping wet large flowers (Un-Topped), in high RH'es allows Botty to strike, in the conditions mentioned above. I find the pre nute in most pre nuted good mixes, such as allmix (Adult peat) is usually not very strong (Cost control). So i usually give 0.5ml grow nute from when the Dame hits the 15cm mark. Upto 15cm include a root stim only no nute. And add 0.5-0.6ml grow feed alongside root stim, post 15cm styers. ie root stim only, no nute to 15cm then start with root stims and grow nute up to 12/12 switch. As after 12/12 no root stim is needed, as all energy to root growth stops and is directed to flower building mass. Root matrix growth stops at the point, the rise of ethylene begins. Most skunks are greedy for N in veg, so even if you give em 2ml grow at 15cm she will scoff it up. little chance of burn at that age. Hope that is of help Styers........... it is a complex road we tread, to get the best expressions from out flowers !! ursus1000
When the net does start to rise up,use tins of food/soup ect,to weigh it down.Just tie some string to the net and then tie the other end of string to the ring pull on the tin.ATB.
