Cursed
yup that would have been right, if it was a choice between you guys and the prophets i would have chosen you anyday. I remember the lozt prophetz first few gigs as they were local boys and their various bands before, in my rose tinted youth when there was a decent thriving scene . my last band used to practise at mike chiplins (old drummrers) practise space a few years ago, lovely guy. guess that makes me cool and gives me credibility any way back on topic.

willowisp
Saw these guys supporting Kvelertak on their last tour, highlight of the night for me, and Joel the frontman took the time to shake the hand of every single person at the front, really nice guy. willowisp
Another live favourite of mine, seen them twice now, for me this was their best album. If they don't change a bit or step up the power even more they're in very real danger of becoming a cabaret act though. Eddiesilence
Immortal is the most scariest band ever. I collapsed in fear at the stance-frenzy at 2.42. Abbath is a better dancer than Michael Jackson. He invented a new walk that shits all over the moonwalk: he goes sideways, but it looks like he's actually going sideways. It's much more frightening than backwards but looking like you're going forwards: Edited October 11, 2012 by Eddiesilence
Eddiesilence
...and here is Abbath with a new knee manoeuvre so creative and brilliant that you momentarily forget he has a fish-face: Edited October 11, 2012 by Eddiesilence
willowisp
Its called the crabwalk! Fair play to him, he joins in the pisstake, he said the last time he was in London he broke into a crabwalk over a zebra crossing, much to nearby tourists bemusement!

Yeah, 1349 are a great live band, and pretty good recorded too. Black metal is a strange beast, you have the more polished, high production bands led by Watain, and the still popular "True Norwegian Black metal" that sounds like it was recorded in a public toilet and is pretty much inaccessible to the casual listener. Behexen and Tsjuder are still flying the flag for the latter. Then we have the new UK bands doing "English Heritage Black Metal", its still a little controversial as the bands are still routinely accused of being racists and being lumped in with the National Socialist Black Metal Bands. Winterfylleth are fantastic and the leaders of EHBM, followed by Wodensthrone and Fen...to confuse matters more we have "Shoegaze black metal" crossing into the venn diagram, A Forest Of Stars and Falloch are the UK leaders, in the USA we have the fantastic Wolves In The Throne Room, I cant reccomend their last album enough, its brilliant. WOTTR are also lumped into the "Eco Positive Black metal" thing. Im off to eat dinner, back in a bit with more info to completely confuse you !

willowisp
I saw these guys live last week, it's almost too much to take in at first, nine people on the stage playing bagpipes, violin, flute, bloody hurdy-gurdy even, if you ever get a chance to see them play then garb it...this is Eluveitie
