Chilli
Day 2 Here we have: Fast Bud 1 - This was planted in an 11 L pot, in PM soil supreme and the seed was not pre-soaked. Fast Bud 2 - This was planted in an 11L pot, in my home made bat mix and the seed was not pre-soaked. SAD 1 - This is in a 3 1/2 pot of PM soil supreme and the seed was pre-soaked SAD 2 - This is in a 3 1/2 pot of PM soil supreme and the seed was not pre-soaked Black Jack 1 - This is in a 3 1/2 pot of PM soil supreme and the seed was pre-soaked Black Jack 2 - This is in a 3 1/2 pot of PM soil supreme and the seed was not pre-soaked Cream Caramel 1 - This was planted in an 11L pot, in my home made bat mix and the seed was pre-soaked. Cream Caramel 2 - This is in a 3 1/2 pot of PM soil supreme and the seed was not pre-soaked It looks like pre-soaking the seeds to speed up germination makes no difference. Chilli
Change of Lamp I mentioned at the start of the diary that I had dropped my CFL that I was going to use to start the grow off and had been using a lightbox to germinate the seeds and was then planning on switching to a 600W MH lamp. I've rethought this and the lightbox just isn't going to be powerful enough and the 600W MH is going to be way too strong, so I've bought another CFL. This is the PowerPlant 300W supercool version designed for propagation and seedlings. Like a kid at Christmas I couldn't wait, so it's been unpacked and the girls are now basking under the eerie blue/white light. Chilli
Day 3 in the Sweets Seeds diary - said in a Geordie accent Big Brother style Here are some pictures taken yesterday of the seedlings at 3 days old. Black Jack 1 Blackjack 2 Cream Caramel 1 Cream Caramel 2 Fast Bud 1 (looks like a lucky 4 leaf clover ) Fast Bud 2 S.A.D. 1 S.A.D. 2 It looks like I may be away for a few days, so I have given all the girls a good water (a bit more than I would have liked at this stage, but I don't want to run the risk of them drying out while I am away). They are now on 20/4 lights on/off (they were on 24/0 to germinate) and the temperatures are 24C lights on and 20C off.

Chilli
good looking specimen you got there mate! 7 Cheers se7en mate Day 6 Nothing much to report other than I have decided to pot on two of the girls into 6" (150mm) pots. S.A.D. 1 This has been potted on into some PM Soil Supreme with some added Bio Supermix & some granules. Black Jack 2 This has been potted on into some JAB + JI with some granules. These two were selected to be potted on as I could see the tap root at the bottom of their pots. After consulting some auto gurus on a specialist auto growing forum. it seems it is important not to impede the tap root and pot on before a decent rootball has formed. Having just said that I will allow a rootball to form in the rest and see if there is any difference. Some of the growers recommended potting on when the plant has two sets of true leaves. The lighting is now on 20/4 (on/off), as the consensus of the growers on the auto forum was 20/4 is best for autos (closely followed by 18/6, with 24/0 considered a waste of energy).
