I hate being the pessimist but it's fucking pipe dreams I'm afraid, not until the money men say so will it be 'normalised' until then dream on.

This other story in the news illustrates how much the gov care what people think.

UK suspends ban on pesticides linked to serious harm in bees

Farmers will be able to use blacklisted pesticides linked to serious harm in bees after the UK government temporarily lifted an EU ban.

Opponents called the decision “scandalous” and criticised the government’s secrecy, which The Guardian revealed has included gagging its own expert advisers.

Bees and other pollinators are essential for many crops but are in decline due to pesticides, loss of habitat and disease. Over 500,000 people signed a petition opposing the suspension of the ban.

I think the important thing with things like this petition is to publicise it. If newspapers, other parties, organisations and businesses endorse cannabis legalization then what will happen is the government won't have any choice than to listen. For example look at this current Jeremy Hunt issue, the amount of people who have joined in the campaign against that proves that the government will have to listen. If people start sending letters to MPs and other organisations we could look at legalisation like Colorado or Washington.

The government wish to stay the government so will push the agenda of themselves and those that own/vote for them.

With over £30 million donated to parties in 2015 that's a lot of different interests :)

When they get to 100,000 they have to consider debating it in parliament , that goes something like this :

Shall we debate it ? ......er, no

Nearly on 85000 now :yep:

Though last night it was on 35000, then this morning it was back down to 22000 I guess because people didn't confirm their emails?

Also noticed the deadline is January, so seems it has a good chance of getting well able the 100,000 by then.

Alas I'm afraid that most MPs will treat it as they did Caroline Lucas's petition and (very rudley IMO) not bother to turn up. :wanker:

One of these goes round every year and nothing ever comes of it.

Not many of them get close to the 100k mark, or are so directly related to Cannabis. Edited by iBMe

@@Bubs Smoosh

The power elite are connected by the shared interest of finance and money, the needs of profit causes a single unified voice without the need for the power elite to necessarily know each other.
