wickenuk
can you keep a mum through winter in a dormant state on a south facing window sill in the house in the same way that you could a geranium, just putting it under light if you need it to produce some shoots for cuttings or would it just die

Guest Peppi
No because the shorter sunlgiht hours would send it into flowering mode. you could maybe try putting a cfl close by on 24-7 to try to stop it flowering peppi
tony2wheelsgood
No because the shorter sunlgiht hours would send it into flowering mode. using the lights in the room would stop it flowering but with so little light i'd expect it to stretch and get weaker by the month. i've got mothers under growlights that are four years old. they live in the garage and with solution heating grow right through the winter. cuttings are a bit short during january and feb but still managable. SnAp CrAcKLe pOp
buy a cheep flouro that will keep it alive if still a small plant. Better yet buy one of those clone/ fish aquarium hoods with either 2x 2 foot or 4 foot flouros. if you have some spare cash buy a envirolite or small mh. the.green.machine.
Odds are mate that the change in light would send it into flower. You could try using an Osram bulb on 18/6 that should do the trick.Good luck anyway. Peace
