chez
I had a great idea earlier! (Or at least it seemed that way!) I've posted on OG about it here - My Idea! Have a look and reply to that post, telling me what you reckon. All advice/Ideas for improvements/General ramblings welcomed! Cheers Chez

2old2rock'nroll
Hi Chez, Had a look at your ballast/computer casing idea and- 1. If you want to ditch the mother board you'll have to jumper the power supply. Try http://www.gideontech.com/guides/psu_powerup/ 2. Should you decide to do that, I would, then have a look at wiring pic. below. 3. I'd definately cut/drill some more holes in the back of the case for ventilation as ballasts get quite warm and all that hot wind your creating has gotta' go somewhere. This wiring pic. incorporates your idea for a contactor and also you can run more cpu fans than just the one for the ballast. If you've gutted everything else out, floppy drive etc. You'll find that their will be extra 12 volt D.C. leads, which would normally be used for things like the floppy drive etc. Well, you can use these to power extra CPU fans in your growroom. Hope this helps, if you have any Q's P.M. me.
