mr beaner
I've just purchased a 44" parabolic reflector and it's a great piece of kit! Looks like a photographers lighting umbrella, the bulb mounts vertically in it. The guy in the grow shop showed me temps and lumens at various spots on the reflector, well impressive and very even light distribution! I drilled a load of holes close together in the top plate and mounted a 5" extractor to it, sucks the heat right out. Yesterday was the hottest day of the year here and my canopy temp was 28C (previously had occasional high points of 33C!) - that's with a 600w HPS hung at about 8" above centre of canopy. My girls are loving it! Worth the £65 I paid for sure!
dustin boles
BEANER, oops. i read an article in high times on some growers who call themselves the spice brothers in southern california, who used 4 ft parabolic reflectors, were able to fit 25-30 plants under each one, and yielded at least two pounds per 1000 watts. i have my eye on one for myself one of these days. good luck, i would like to hear how it works out for you. mr beaner
jamin Got it from Total Control hydro shop in Kingswood, Bristol. List price is £87, but discount can be negotiated - Phil will always knock money off for larger orders or if you show him a genuine price elsewhere. dustin, good to hear the california boys success. I've got 2 x 424's with 8 plants on each, flowered at about 12" - the canopy is now unbelievable only 16 days into flowering, a level sea of bud sites! I'll update when crop done...
