RGSC mouse’s 2024 outdoor guerilla games

Starting this thread as a placeholder for this years RGSC comp. The only comp I’m joining this year after last years flop and a waste of beans.
Busy in new job so I will finish my plot for RGSC beans next week and get the beans into some water. Electric bike arriving this week so I kind of want to wait for that to arrive aswell. 12 mile trip up the mountain on bmx with compost etc. wasn’t fun lol

This is what I’ve got done so far. Facing south in a Christmas tree forest, I have created a small spot and added a small amount of compost, FBB, chicken manure and bonemeal to get things started. I plan to build the soil up no-till style, since the ph and micro biome in the soil is way off.

This is the same plot I’ve detailed in the outdoor sections thread. Apologies to those who’ve had to read twice lol The outdoor thread I like to include all the going’s on of this year whether competition or otherwise. Makes for easier reading and comparison for years to come

I've grown in identical surroundings pine/Xmas tree with compacted acidic soil where the trees grow ur plants will become like trees aswell  .

Just be sure to water often or dig down so roots can stay moist .

I'd say yes your right in thinking that but if you've made a raised bed / pots above ground and dig a foot down then the imported medium will buffer the pH.

@AnonyMice I've grew in a couple different soil types outdoors without any real notable difference. The main problem has usually been what's growing round it and whether it has to compete with the local flora.

Cool thanks guys. I bought a book today and it’s got pages on ‘improving the soil by digging’ so I’ll start there and see if it has any relevance lol I will dig I think. Started doing 50 hours a week in a new job almost 10 miles in the other direction from my plot so I might change my RGSC plans to a location on the way as I’ll be making that journey regularly.
I can use the mountain plot that is 6 miles in the other direction for some other beans I won’t pay so close attention too..

x6 OPG x Fuckard & x6 OPG Zoap are in soil and on the window sill. I might move them to the top of the shed when they pop above soil

New bong. Smokes really smooth .

will update when something exciting happens lol

oh yeah.. I germinated placing seeds directly in soil and propagate them on a warm south facing windowsill .. no glass of water or paper towels first. Nearly left that but out

8 days since I potted up. Haven’t checked them in days. Nice to see most of them are alive and happy. All but 2x OPG x Fuckard. One wasn’t buried deep enough so I’ve gave her a push into the soil and gave them all a water. Hopefully they do pop up.
I really like germinating directly in soil. Saves a lot of hassle and I can just water and forget, come back to some happy seedlings lol

They were a little leggy so I’ve moved them outside. The weather is incredible here recently, shockingly.
