Larry Badgeley
Quick question folks. I am about to start some seeds. Would Tropic Bat Mix be too hot for the seeds?
WOLFCHILD
Well it's Guano added in that mix so I would imagine it may be a bit to hot/nutrient dense for seedlings, I would err on the side of caution and use a light mix/seedling mix if you have any kicking around and leave the Bat mix until you pot them up for the first time. I've not used Tropic bat mix and the above advice is just based on the fact that Guano usually makes for a pretty rich/hot mix.
Larry Badgeley
Yes thought so. I have found some seedling mix. I'll use that. Thanks for that
MySoulIsMine
In the past I have used it and it took ages for the seeds to get going but they still made it
KC
I have used it before with seedlings, they were fine. I just wanted to see why people were saying the stuff is shit. I thought it was fantastic myself.

BilgePump
1 hour ago, Larry Badgeley said: potting mix and it's like concrete. I bet its a bag of john innes seed/№. Manufacturers have obviously been phasing out the peat element and its shockingly bad these days, not fit to carry the name imho.
