Feeding Schedule

Recommended Posts

I’m on my first grow with seeds in the ground just about to show their faces, I hope.

After a little advice on general feeding/nutrient schedules. I’ve assumed most charts are for feeding 1-2 times a week.

I’m using:

• Epsom salt solution (to balance out hard water)

• NPK RAW Silica

• Intense Nutrients Foundation

• Biobizz Grow

• Biobizz Bloom

• Ecothrive Biosys

Feeding plan as follows, I know I will need to change this based on how they do, but would like to have a good baseline understanding.

All measures being diluted in 2l as I’ll mix in 2l bottles!

Seedling per 2l
Silica - 0.125g Every watering
Epsom - 4ml Every watering
Foundation - 5ml 1-2 times per week

Veg (after 4 sets of leaves)
Silica - 0.25g Every watering
Epsom - 4ml Every watering
Foundation - 5ml 1-2 times per week
Grow - 2ml 1-2 times per week
Biosys - 0.5g every 2 weeks with half nutes)

Week 1 Flower per 2l
Silica - 0.25g Every watering
Epsom - 4ml Every watering
Foundation - 5ml 1-2 times per week
Grow - 2ml 1-2 times per week
Flower - 2ml 1-2 times per week
Biosys - 0.5g every 2 weeks with half nutes)

Week 2-3 Flower per 2l
Silica - 0.25g Every watering
Epsom - 4ml Every watering
Foundation - 5ml 1-2 times per week
Grow - 2ml 1-2 times per week
Flower - 4ml 1-2 times per week
Biosys - 0.5g every 2 weeks with half nutes)

Week 4-5 Flower per 2l
Silica - 0.25g Every watering
Epsom - 4ml Every watering
Grow - 2ml 1-2 times per week
Flower - 6ml 1-2 times per week
Biosys - 0.5g every 2 weeks with half nutes)

Week 6-8 Flower per 2l
Epsom - 4ml Every watering
Grow - 2ml 1-2 times per week
Flower - 8ml 1-2 times per week
Biosys - 0.5g every 2 weeks with half nutes)

Week 9 Flower

When a plant is vegging you don't need to feed it as the compost has nutrients in it, everytime you pot up it gets fresh nutrients so the first time I feed veg nutes is actually at the start of 12/12, I use the veg nutes for about 10-14days. You can feed the foundation though as it's just a root stim. I don't personally use silica as compost has it in already.

There's no way a seedling will need epsom salts, I don't even use it nowadays since I changed from Biobizz but you might need to use it a couple of times through the plants life, you'll see lower leaves fade but the veins stay green, it's quite easy to see. It's been awhile since I used Biobizz so I can't recall when I used the epsoms, in my head I got near the end of veg then a couple of weeks in 12/12. Like I say you might not need it at all, most plants did fine without it, just the odd one now and again would require it.

So once you're in flower and the stretch has finished you can switch to grow and flower (biobizz requires you to use both). You feed everytime you water, not 1-2 times per week.

Sorry I can't help with the Biosys, I've never used that before.

Like I say I've not used Biobizz for years, I've heard it's got weaker since I used it but I can't confirm myself. I used to use 1ml Grow and 1ml bloom early in flower and increase the bloom as the flowers progressed. Some  plants will require more grow nutes too, you'll know from the fading fan leaves. I think max I ever went to was 2ml grow (per litre) and 3ml bloom (per litre).

Just out of interest where did you find that chart? :ermm:

@KC

The chart is just me making it up so I could post it here for helpful comments like yours!

The Epsom salts is 250g diluted in a litre of water, then I’ll add 4ml of that to my water to balance out the ca/mg imbalance I have due to hard water. I assume this will be ok every watering.

Would you use foundation for every watering?

Week 1 Flower per 2l
Silica - 0.25g Every watering
Epsom - 4ml Every watering
Foundation - 5ml Every watering
Grow - 2ml Every watering
Flower - 2ml Every watering
Biosys - 0.5g every 2 weeks with half nutes)

Week 2-3 Flower per 2l
Silica - 0.25g Every watering

You could have a winning formula there for all I know but I’d keep it really simple, just use bloom and grow and maybe some cal mag/ Epsom salts. When I started I used everything going and it just confuses you even more. Just use good compost, bloom, grow and cal mag. Learn how the plants respond to that, when using lots of different products it’s never clear what’s doing what.

My waters really hard, I never use epsoms, you might need it a couple of times but you certainly don't need it every watering.

If you’re using biobizz OT1’s feed schedule is on here. I’m sure many have used it with success. Probably worth having a read just to get the advice of a pioneer, legend and amazing grower.

Also it might be worth noting that Biobizz isn’t what it used to be,

that’s why lots of folk don’t use it anymore.

The trial size packs might be full strength but the contents of the regular size bottles have definitely changed over the years.

If intense could get itself certified then I’d be with you, but just saying it’s organic isn’t enough

Thanks @mikeydoughnut I’m basically following that but with the addition of the silica and foundation.

@Shumroom so I’ve heard, unfortunately after I bought a litre of both. I’m gonna stick with them for my first grow and see how it goes..

Just don’t be surprised if you end up feeding like 5ml per litre at some points :)

Although biobizz might have gotten a bit shit it’s more the regimen than amounts that might be of use.
