How long did you wash and at what temperature?

Hey I froze the material and the iso over night and the wash was a bit longer than I intended cause I was flapping around with the filter so around 60 seconds ish.

Hard to to evaluate as you don't appear to be fully purged yet.  I suggest that you flatten it out to a thin film on the parchment paper to optimize purging and purge at 115F under -29.5" vacuum.

60 Second is a long time for ISO.  You end up with more undesirable non-targeted longer chain elements like leaf waxes, carotene, chlorophyll, et al.

I suggest that you try closer to 20 seconds to minimize leaf wax pickup.  I pour through a strainer before the filters, to get rid of the plant material faster.

I hope that helps and would like to see it again when fully purged.

Thank you yes, im not sure what you mean with the vaccum though? Im doing this on a wing and a prayer honestly but ive been freezing it, grating to powder and then rolling with a heated bottle in an effor to purge it. Is it specialist equipment to purge with vaccum? or is it like doable with kitchen gear? Also ive got plants going at the moment and im thinking of directly freezing the trim and fans from fresh, is that worth doing or should I defo be drying first? I know I did get that wash too long, next till time ill have a better handle on what im doing hopefully.

Vacuum and heat is the fastest way to purge the remaining solvent, but you can do it by rolling it into a thin film and using a heat mat @ 125F to speed up evaporation.  Not as good a job purging, but good enough to meet FDA standards.

You can extract fresh frozen with Iso, but even trickier because of all the water.  Easier to do fresh frozen with a non-polar solvent like one of the Alkanes (Propane, Butane, Pentane, Hexane, Heptane)

Got you, thanks what I will do is dry full plants like normal on this run then immediately freeze, have another go in a month or so when the currrent plants are ready. This material was left sat around for a few weeks and I think it must have degraded a bit before I even froze it,but good to know im along the right lines for purge cause it has been bothering me that part. Ive smoked it all and im not dead as well so theres that.

So next time ill do faster wash, quicker to the freezer after drying, maybe get a heat mat to help speed things up and for the final purging and ill have another go. I do work on a very tight budget when spending out on my weed stuff cause I did realise its very  easy to turn a money saving hobby into an expensive one where  you still need to buy weed sometimes anyway haha.

I was looking into butane at first but it seems like you need higher quality butane and it a bit harder to source than the iso. I want to try cold water as well to be fair but again its just spending out on the buckets putting me off.

From what you said though biggest mistake was the amount of time I washed it and ill get the filters sorted better beforehand it was poorly planned this time round but hopefully try 3 I can have a  bit more confidence going into it and ill kepp you guys posted. Thanks for the advice.

You can speed up evaporation with a blower.

9.4.8.1 QWISO - GrayWolf's Lair (graywolfslair.com)

I made my own sieving buckets by pop riveting stainless mesh in the bottom of a 5 gallon plastic bucket.  I would show you a picture, but have forgotten how to post one here.

I also made my own dry sieving frames.  You can get the mesh for either, from sources listed here.

As a cheap low pressure solution you can use vacuum Tupperware containers

And put it on your router or a cup warmer to keep it warm
