Getting that hay smell

So I have 2 plants hanging in my tent at the moment but I’ve noticed it smells a bit like hay. The extractor is on the slowest speed (ac infinity so it’s fairly slow), temps are 21 and RH is around 57%.

Some of the buds I harvested as they were done and I had them hanging in a cardboard box with extraction to the tent while the lower buds got a bit more light. They’ve been drying for 1 1/2 weeks and the stems are still bendy so I know they’re not completely dry but I get worried when I can smell hay.

should I leave it until 2 weeks then jar them, burp them every day for 30 mins and go from there?

I wouldn’t want to dry any bud in a room where a tent is still running personally. I’ve tried it and never once had good results. Annoying because be nice to straight away get a next crop on the go.
Also I haven't done it yet but going forward I’m going to try it. Have a look at the wine cooler topic in here, seems to get good results. Like I say I can’t say I’ve tried it but it’ll be getting used next harvest for me.

Sounds like you’ve over dried found the best way is to dry to you get that finger crack sound as you squeeze it .so pretty dry on outside then brown paper bag it not packing the bags to full get the best results that way.

sometimes, well a lot of the time, ive opened the dry tent and got a hit of hay - thats ok - if the bud has a decent terp profile i.e. smell, it'll be ok when you bag it/jar it

that hey smell is a natural smell of something breaking down, cant remember what its called, but it should be ok
