mystic_roots
And before some high user comments I do not mean dresses or clothing for the pots cause that's what I'd be thinking. I'm only on about day 6 and I saw a white little pest crawling on the top soil, my friends the fungus gnats are back. They always start off around my venus flytraps and then mitigate themselves to my cannabis. I intend to water the pots tomorrow fully with some Tanlin mixed in to kill any eggs but can the top soil be dressed with anything like sand to prevent any remaining fungus gnats to not be able to lay their eggs? They're a pain in the ass, especially while I'm trying to get a good root system at such a young age, don't want these little bastards chomping at the roots. Lizard80
I would suggest try using Diatomaceous Earth. Mix into the top inch or two. Cuts them to pieces

Shumroom
You can get a top dress from ‘the mosquito company’, they don’t seem to do the tablets that they used to sell. I only know because I thought I was ordering more tablets(1 tab per 10l) It’s the same active ingredient as the ‘mosquito bits’ BTI, I do believe I first read about it in one of @ratdog’s diaries I don’t see any fungus gnat larvae in my pots.
