Celtic voyager
Eveing all. I was checking out RGS jiffy pots. Are these suitable for starting off autos in, instead of going straight to final pot at first. Will the roots of the auto be strong enough to work/brake their way through it Link to comment
catweazle1
They are the best of their kind... get a load as they are officially discontinued in that size by Jiffy. RGS has the last of them. Yes, you can pot up an auto with them and the technique works very well for them. I pot up again from that to a 1 litre netpot, then put that complete with the netpot in my final. The roots are not disturbed because they are air-pruned up to the sides of the pot. You can do the first 2-3 weeks in the jiffys. Let the roots show and die off as they appear a few times. They will show in waves and then wither. 1 Link to comment

Hi catweazle1 My plan is to start the autos off in these jiffy pots in doors, for the first two weeks, then transfer the pot into its final pot. Link to comment
catweazle1
That's still better for filling the final pot top to bottom than starting in finals as they tend to stay around the lower section. 2 Link to comment
