Surfer Joe
I have a few raised beds in the back yard, currently covered up for winter, and today I discovered a very odd frost erosion along every edge of the raised beds. I am in the south of the UK and it has been below freezing several days during the past few weeks but I have never seen this effect before. The ground has eroded away over one inch deep in the photos attached.Does anyone know what has caused this?

Rhubarb & Flustered
My Grandad always used to surround his raised beds and green houses with sand and pea gravel. Always wondered why, guess I now know. Edited January 23, 2023 by Rhubarb & Flustered
OldFord
Water run off would be my guess , can you spike through it into the ground to aid water egress ?
Crow River
Giant man-eating worms, mate. Whatever you do, don't make a drumming noise with your feet when wandering around the beds. One false step, you're a goner! Edited January 23, 2023 by Crow River
