smilertoo
Hello, Can i put diluted neem into the soil to kill off pests before i plant, or will it kill all microbes as well?
Shumroom
Is there a particular beastie you're trying to get rid of? You might be as well cooking it to pasteurise it. I've seen neem extract in a couple of varieties. There's the oil which is great for foliar spraying(it stinks though). Plus you can get neem cake meal which is ideal for mixing as part of your compost, this also provides nutrition so be careful not to overfeed in combination with your other nutrients. Shumroom
As far as I'm aware, neem affects small animals eating functions. I think it's OK for the microbes, but if it's not, you can easily top them back up later with some compost tea or something similar anyway. MindSoup
Neem only effects pests that eat plants so unless they're stuck/drowning in a puddle of it, it's safe for your beneficials. E2A like @Shumroom said instead of using a solution just add neem meal/cake/leaf powder to you soil mix.
