Is there a guide for making CBD oil ?

As per title really. Want to grow a full CBD plant and extract as much oil as possible. This will be for my dog who I currently give bought cbd oil that i get online (legal site and legal oil etc mixed with turmeric).

I mean I know how to grow the thing lol . But im looking for advice on the harvest and the loi making/dilution.

When do you harvest ? I tend to find with normal plants the loi seems to be more plentiful on an early harvest as opposed to waiting for amber - Anyone got any views on this ? When do you harvest CBD plants for maximum oil content ?

Extracting oil ? Iso wash or butane honey oil ? or is there a better way ?

Then onto dilution. What do you use ? what average ratio to achieve your aims ?

Don't get me wrong, I'm not looking to send stuff to a lab for exact readings, I'm just looking for a semi reliable bro science method here.

Check out gray wolf's lair (website). @Graywolf is a member here with a lot of knowledge on different extraction methods.

I'm not too sure about the best time to harvest, it was looking into it a while ago and some people seem to say an earlier chop is better for peak CBD whereas others say to chop at the same time as THC dominant varieties, if you find anything definitive let me know..

For small volume medical extraction, I would suggest QWET or QWISO processes.

Here are some articles on decarboxylation, which works the same for hemp cannabinoids as marijuana.

I haven't compared oil volume, as I time my harvest for effects and prefer mostly cloudy, with a few amber.  All amber typically has a higher CBN, a sedative.

The oil volume varies not only plant to plant, but even from different parts of the same plant, so I haven't noticed differences in yields between cloudy and amber, though I have between clear and the more mature trichomes.

For your pup, I would suggest a QWET extraction, so that you are less concerned with purge quality, and then diluting the concentrate with a vegetable oil.  It will mix at any ratio at around 65C/150F, but I add just enough to keep it liquid enough to flow through a dropper.

We supplied Holy Anointing Oil or Holy Shit formulation to patients when we were doing research, which worked well but might not appeal to a dog's taste as much as just vegetable oil or ghee.

That leads us to another method that might be appropriate.  It won't achieve the concentration that diluting essential oil with vegetable oil will, but that only means that the size of the dose has to be adjusted.  Consider vegetable oil or ghee extraction.  Safe and easy with minimal equipment requirement and no hard-to-get components:
