ComfortablyDumb
Hi Folks, With Tropic having a Cal/Mag ratio of 2:1, what does this actually mean in practice please. ? If my water is high in Cal but low in mag, say 6:1, does the compost bring my overall ratio back near into line, as in 6:1 x 2:1 = 4:1 Or am I just hitting the plants with twice the amount of Cal that I already have ? While it's a nice compost, and I'd like to carry on using it, the cuttings I run showed def's that I've not had before with no amendment to my water. Shumroom
I enjoy using the Tropic Mix compost too If that was my tap water, I'd be adding either Epsom salts or mono Magnesium to bring your it up to a 3:1 ratio. I wouldn't worry about what's already in the compost. What lighting do you use in the nursery/cutting stage? Atb

I did when using coco. GA said it shouldn't be a problem with their soft water nutrients beyond the odd epsom spray. Also tried mono mag, then switched to compost thinking it would be more forgiving 19 hours ago, Shumroom said: I wouldn't worry about what's already in the compost. You sure ? Tried quite a few differnt composts of late with mixed results, same cuttings. 19 hours ago, Shumroom said: What lighting do you use in the nursery/cutting stage? Nothing stressful, either T5's or HPS Appreciate your response M8 Atb
