BushDoctoR
Hey everyone, After many years of using Canna coco ferts I've decided to try a different feed. They say if ain't broke don't fix it but I'm bored and going to do it anyway Vita-Link is a feed that has come up in a few convos with other hard water coco growers local to me and my local always seems to have it in stock so I'm going give it a whirl I'm slightly miffed at the difference between the two types and why they exist. From what I gather the classic is 1 part feed with grow and bloom formulas whereas the max is a single a + b formula. I know there is a few VL users here, can anyone shed any light on which one they prefer and why? Blessings

The single part isn't very concentrated, I believe the dilution is 5 - 8ml/l. From memory, the MAX has, imo, the better NPK and a 2 - 4ml/l dilution.
BushDoctoR
Thanks dude! Yeah I did notice the difference in dilution being quite different but I think it evens out price wise as with the a + b you would use 4ml a + 4ml b as opposed to 8ml of the one part. I'm drawn to the max purely because my logic is telling me it's newer and therefore probably an improved formula, and the classic still exists to keep their old customers happy but I could be completely wrong Guess there's only one way to find out... lennyd79
Hi @BushDoctoR, since i went to coco i have only ever used Vitalink Coir Max A&B so i dont have anything to compare it with. It is all i use apart from a rootstim and occasionally a enzyme to break down some dead roots. I have soft water and it doesn't need pH adjusted for myself. I rate it and won't change as like they say "if it ain't broke" I meant to say I start them off on Vitalink's Plantstart as I find it starts them off quicker than a light feed of A&B. I max out at 4ml of each but then taper the feed down during mid to late flower. Edited August 6, 2022 by lennyd79
