@Revive :hippy:

Mate , I just love experimenting with things.

Flowering triggers fascinate me .

The idea of a 16week 3oz+ Auto and controlling the harvest a bit more .

Just want to find a way to guarantee a September harvest at Lat 55 .

Hyper sensitivity or flowering under 16 hrs light would get the finish, but throws up problems with planting before June, so reduces size/yeild.

Guess I'm just going to have to move to a better Latitude if I can't find a way.

large.1632621423679_compress82.jpgHey buddy, I hear ya.. im lat 51 see but still finding something that finishes in sept but still yields well isn't so easy.. maybe lots of autos is the way to go for you but as we see sometimes you just don't know what your gonna get even with those.. last season I ran a COTC var called cash crop, a full-blown auto that cooks in about 100 days.. supposed to be decent yielding plants, more auto xl than your average ones.. at 100 days it only just started flowering and prob went almost 180 days before comming down.. was an amazing plant but just not what I wanted it to be.. all the vegetation around it had died off by the time she really got going properly so she stood out like a sore thumb in the end.. it was on a plot that is in plain sight so it was a drama and a worry..I ended up putting canes in the ground and then cable tying some dying shubbery to them in order to create a border that didn't look out of place to keep her covered and hidden..right ball ache mate.. I dont have much luck with them (auto) they are either a bud on a stick, run almost twice what they should,or grow into a non flowering fuking beanstalk lol maybe I should leave well alone..

Its good to experiment if you had the time to do so but I generally don't.. its a funny old game this buddy and nothing seems to be nailed on what ever way we roll. :yinyang:

i have auto bluetooth going, think its day 66 now, last visit they were 6ft beanstalks, no pistils, no sign of auto, had to top em all, sounds very similar to above, does this mean the auto genes didnt take and these are photoperiods?

That's some beast .

Must have lost its auto in the mix .

We need a 60-70 day veg and a 60day flower.

130 days from seed.

Can plan better then and the Auto would compensate for latitude differences.

Sure it can be done. Be in the metabolism of the plant somewhere

She was just another freek really mate..trying to point out that sometimes things don't perform as expected with so many variables changing the overall outcome outdoors

I'm not that clued on diff lats but some of these xxl autos may work, there just so fuking hit and miss buddy aswell as being quite temperamental.. creating something of your own thats acclimatised to your geographic location somewhat is prob the way to go :yinyang:

Acclimatized breeding definitely helps. I had bred a good one for your Lat a while back .

That's what this year is about for me .

Getting to know the weather patterns and breeding something's for next season.

And finding some more plots..

How's the jizz collecting going?

I grew seven GSC autos from seed outdoors, Guerrilla style. The first batch of three were germed a couple of weeks earlier than the later four.  I had one runt from the seven but continued the runt on for fun, as you never know. All the other six grew extremely strong. Proper beastly vertical chunky, thick stemmed growth. They did not respond well to training as they grew so rigid and thick. Though I still managed to force them into training with a bit of brute force, hence I accidentally  topped one. At the time I was annoyed. But that plant turned out well, grew more main tops and seemed a bit better on the mould. There seemed to be two main phenotypes that showed up in flowering. A purple one and a green one. The purple seemed to flower earlier. Impressive colour and really Looked like it was packing it on... unfortunately there was a few days rain with high humidity later in flowering., and in just a couple of days the main cola rotted out and a lot more mould was found elsewhere, so had to be harvested. Sometimes spotting mould on a purple bud Ganja plant can be difficult as mould blends in with the colour so who knows it may have been creeping around sooner than I thought, even with the regular visits and check ups. The nugs were rock hard though, and very high bud to leaf ration. Nice dense nugs.... think it got harvested around day 97.. I shoulda chopped it before the rain. But so it goes. I only had x2 of these purple phenos and the other one was the runt that ended up with about an eighth on it. Looked wicked though.

The remaining were green phenos.. now to cut a long story short, unfortunately the strain seems very prone to rot in the later stage. And it spreads extremely quick compared to the other two auto strains I was running from Urban Legends which would not rot or have very little that didn’t spread much compared to the GSC. I had x2 auto plots and one had better airflow than the other. But rot was still extremely quick when it did start with the GSC’s even with the better air flow. So at first I was a bit disheartened when the low mould resistance showed up...

but later on since harvest.... when I’ve inspected the quality of the flowers that didn’t get mould. The nugs are nice. The smell is very nice. Sweet candy smell which I’m sure will improve with cure. The hit i find strong to. Fairly easy to trim than the other two Auto strains I grew. I thought I may have had to take them a bit early with the mould issue and thought the bud might be immature. But in retrospect, now I find the quality is very good. I’m impressed. Seems mature enough, saying that the topped one ran over 100 days... basically the topping made it flower later than the others which I tried to train.

So after the mould issues at first I was thinking I wouldn’t run it again. But I’m having second thoughts now. The yield is good. With the two weights in the photos being around average per plant, give or take. Yielded quite a bit more than the other two Urban Legends strains. Better bud to leaf ratio, which makes for easier trimming.. It’s fairly low odour when growing which is a plus to me for Guerrilla growing in certain places, it’s  Just the mould issue that let’s it down a bit. I probably will run another pack though. Overall their Impressive genetics! I did see another fella @Reviveon here get a real strange mutant GSC, but luckily I didn’t encounter that problem with the seven I ran. Just the one pretty looking runt.... I’d say it’s a beast of a strain the vigour and strength it grows with. But just as @Forestguy said in his review of the strain in 2021. You need to keep an eye on it later on in flowering. Forestguy also reported much higher yields with the strain than me. I really do go to town with trimming the silver leaf at harvest so could potentially be that or other variable factors. I still thought the yield was very good for an auto. Cheers though Forestguy I actually thought I’d give the strain a go after reading your review. I’ve definitely become an auto convert this season. Additional to the semi autos and photoperiods.

Thanks all

Salute
