tyke_uk
hi just a quick question . im an absolute beginer and this is my first attempt . I currently have 3 very healthy northern light plants grown from seed . Im growing outdoors in 7 litre buckets will these be ok or will they need larger pots at some stage ? ( they have been potted on twice previous ) cheers
JuliusMagnificus
hi, it depends on your growing season, i would move to 15 pots when they get as big as the 7 ltrs and two weeks before you know they are going to start blooming one last time double again, northern lights It is an indica genetics, it does not have huge roots, but more space, more plants, and more production. OldFord
I only grow outdoors , i have been experimenting with pot sizes over the years and this is what i have found - Last year i dropped from 20 ltrs to 7.5ltrs for the fems & autos - All dried out quicker & need more watering as to be expected. All kept drier in the later stages , retaining way less water leading to zero rot issues. Unless your going for all out monsters , i would leave them to it in the buckets you have as dropping the pot sizes last year seen no real diff in plant size or end yield over the previous or side by side tests. The above aint gospel mate , try a side by side for yourself and make your own mind up. Pics from numerous years grows in the gallery for info mate. All the best with it & get a diary up.
