Slippy One
Hi I would like to know if anyone has made a metal cabinet build? I think they'd be great for plain sight stealth and I know they're very lockable, just wondering if they're a bitch to build or dangerous to operate? (Electrical earthing etc). Cheers!
Crow River
@murphyblue built a grow space out of a steel cabinet last year.
murphyblue
I have since added some upgrades new lights new fan and filter. Here's the build. I also added another intake fan and added more holes inside and out. It works well the way its positioned the intake inside room and the exhaust is right next to an open window.
Slippy One
Amazing build that, @murphybluethe extra vents and active intake will go a long way in controlling humidity at the end of flower. How did you find drilling vents in the metal? Do I need special drill bits?
murphyblue
You can get a metal hole saw set would have made things easier but i just drilled a series of holes and used a tin snips to tidy it up a bit. I had a proper metal duct piece that fitted from the outside to tidy it up outside and as i made an exoskeleton its got insulated walls floor and ceiling then the whiteboard that covers everything inside. If i had to build it again i would have made the top shelf a little deeper to make it easier for the 6"fan and filter to be removed during visits i can strip it and fill it full of junk in a couple of hours. I was lucky i had most of the stuff i needed hanging around in work even the whiteboard which although i doubt is cheap i would recommend its just so easy quick wipe down and done.
