Chris78
Hi All. My tapwater has always been 0.1 to 0.2 ec, well today it seems to be fluctuating between 0.6 and 0.9. The ec meter reads the calibration fluid correctly. Im not a regular grower, so most of the time I wouldnt have a clue what the ec of the tapwater is, but my last two grows it was pretty steady, certainly not 0.9! Are fluctuations like this common? I hope it doesnt persist, a base ec of 0.9 would be a huge pain I imagine.
catweazle1
If it stays above 0.6ec for good now , you'll need to take remedial action with a DI or Osmosis unit. You could buy in some DI water and dilute your tap to an acceptable ec foor a while to see if it drops back. The water authority might just be doing some work on their pipes.
