Can I drive under the influence of cannabis if I have a prescription?

Can I be given a drug driving test for cannabis if I am in receipt of cannabis under prescription?

You can drive but if caught you will be charged with drug driving.

 

Same for the lovely benzo's the doctor gives me. If I am caught behind the wheel high I will face charges, even if my drugs are legal.

dont think it will effect your driving under medical cannabis. as it only contains CBD which is legal to buy in vape shops.

Yeah but I thought that was just one instance of a boy who moved from the states back in 2018 I think. Have many more been prescribed since? If so how do you get your thc? Pills or liquid?

having a prescription for medical cannabis should be an absolute defence against the charge of having cannabis in your bloodstream.

 

HOWEVER

 

It is no defence whatsoever against being impaired to drive.

 

If, like me, you have a medical cannabis presciption ( @the ferret medicaly prescribed canabis can be cbd only, thc only, or a mix; but normally when discussing medicaly prescribed cannabis we mean thc containing else why bother? I have both cbd only and tch only prescribed), then it is your responsibiity to ensure you are not impaired.

 

Obv, if the bacon want to do you, they will use your blood thc levels to prove you are impaired - but that is a differnt story.

 

If you want to argue, ihave chapter and verse written down somehwere, but cant be arsed atm.

tch has been prescribable privately by specialist doctors since nov 2018.

only about 3 poeple have been prescribed on the nhs.

it is presribed generally as flower or oil. you are not allowed to smoke it, only vape or sublingual.

@AnonyMice as @Newcouch said - private doctors prescribe it. You can buy actual cannabis flowers from authorised resellers when you register your prescription; you pays your money and they posts your weed. Not sure how many have actually done this but there's a few on here that are getting prescriptions filled legally, I think.

Thats not a perfect description. You apply to clinic who screen you and make appointment with specialist. Your specialist dr prescribes and recommends to clinic, clinic reviews and authorises presription. this prescription for flower or oil then goes to pharmacist.

 

None of this is automiatic. i didnt get prescribed cannabis first time, but something else, which really fucked me up. then we went for the miraculous weed.

Here in CANNADAUH

we have an issue with impaired.

8 ng in yer blood and yer impaired...

so they say.

 

 

NO ONE WILL CHALLENGE THIS

due to the simple fact.... they will take their FINE.... as no cop will even TRY and charge you with an over 8 ng charge

as

THERE IS NO WHERE IN CANADA TO TEST for this impairment .....NO WHERE FAST anyway..takes up to 4 months .

...SO  no charges

just tickets

and people are glad to pay them

rather than fight something that is complete BULlSHIT with respect to being impaired.

Id go to court and set a precedence myself but  I doubt I ill ever be charged or ticketed...

Most  medical people that fought for these rights will be dead before it matters anyway
