Sweet Seeds -Jaypp Posted July 5, 2021 Share Posted July 5, 2021 Mainly due to its crucial role in the therapeutic and psychoactive properties of Cannabis sativa L. species, the vast majority of cannabis floral biology studies are focused on the female flower. However, the cannabis male flower can play a key role in the breeding of the species. It is really interesting to see how pollen can contribute to cannabis breeding through androgenesis, a promising alternative for development of double haploid plants and genetic standardization of C. sativa traits. Approximately one month ago it was published a scientific article concerning this topic in Frontiers in Plant Science journal.
